We are all faced with the task of aligning with our authentic selves, a journey that is especially challenging for
women
—we are pressured to fulfill many roles, our decisions are subjected to higher scrutiny, and our right to autonomy is not always in our own hands (i.e., abortion, reproductive rights). I offer
women
-specific support—including abortion support. In trying to navigate all these moving pieces, we are often overcome by stress, leaving us feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, frustrated, defeated, and inadequate. With all the noise, it becomes difficult to connect with our internal compass and we find ourselves lost.

I have dedicated my professional career to supporting adult
women
struggling with alcohol use, anxiety, low self-worth, and life transitions.
Have you ever said “ I will never drink again” only to find yourself drinking again? Do you find yourself hiding bottles? Going to different stores each day to buy alcohol? Does your drinking cause shame and guilt? Are you feeling isolated, alone, misunderstood? Are you stuck in the same patterns of behavior? Have you tried to solve the problems in your life on your own and realized you need help from someone else? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you have made the right choice by being here. Together we can work to help equip you with the necessary tools to help you face and overcome your challenges.

I enjoy working with
women
, teens, and first responders in the areas of anxiety, stress, self-esteem, depression, relationship difficulties, parenting challenges, trauma, and life transitions. It is within the context of our relationship with self and others that we find or lose balance. It can be hard communicating our feelings and needs with others in an effective way. I offer a whole person, mind-body approach to treatment within the context of a safe and trustworthy therapeutic relationship.

I work with people who feel overwhelmed--by work, big transitions, relationships, family, life. My approach is gentle, non-judgmental, and deep. I enjoy helping clients become more fully aware of themselves and of the patterns that hold them back in life, and working with them to feel more grounded and connected with themselves and with others. Many of my clients are people who are in helping professions or caretaking roles. Many are
women
or non-binary individuals, and are longing to feel more at home in their own skin and more confident in their own strength, beauty, and wisdom.

I bring an eclectic approach to counseling, valuing above all the relationship that forms between therapist and client. I am honored to bear witness to an individual's story and journey back to balance. In addition to supportive counseling, I have been trained in play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and parent education. I offer individual counseling as well as small group therapy for children and teens of all ages.

As a
woman
of color, I am a strong advocate for breaking down the stigma of mental health care in the BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) communities.
Starting a new journey can feel daunting and overwhelming. However, choosing to seek partnership to achieve growth as a person is self-love. Whatever it is that you may be experiencing, anxiety, depression, past traumas, grief/loss or even communication barriers with family and friends, the collaborative effort through therapy can assist you with self-identified goals. During the therapy process we will work on establishing a secure therapeutic relationship, where you can use your voice to share your needs. Therapy doesn’t have to be a chore and while partnering with me, we will integrate individualized goals to aid in your success.

I am passionate about supporting individuals who identify as
women
as they navigate the challenges of life. Addiction and recovery, relationship issues/co-dependence, chronic mental and physical dis-ease, and pregnancy/postpartum and parenting can bring us to places of deep loneliness, suffering and desperation. Past experiences have shaped our path and our behaviors. Brilliant strategies that enabled us to survive through trauma and adversity no longer serve us. It IS possible to shift those patterns. With loving connection and non-judgment I create a safe space for individuals to do the deep work that results in real life change.

While I enjoy and feel competent working with both genders, I have a true passion for issues common to the
female
journey.
Most people who find me here are pretty miserable and hoping to find a way to make things different in their lives. I work best with girls and
women
who are willing to bust it to achieve change. Therapy isn't a magic wand - I believe that each individual has the power to recognize what their therapeutic needs are and maybe even how to address them; I am here to provide gentle guidance and perhaps some different perspective to bring awareness to patterns of thought and behavior, therefore facilitating YOUR desire for change.

I also offer group therapy for
women
.
I believe in the ability of psychotherapy to bring us to greater understanding of ourselves. A skilled therapist can provide the means to respond to the past and enable individuals to identify what they want and what their obstacles are. With a foundation based on a strong therapeutic relationship, a belief in the unconscious and respect for your own pace, I will help you examine who you are, what you want and what stands in the way of reaching your potential for happiness, meaning and satisfaction.

I enjoy working with people of diverse identities including
women
-identified clients and the LGBTQ and BIPOC community.
Please note: I provide online therapy in 25 states. Hello and welcome! I am a clinical psychologist who supports people to achieve their highest levels of well-being. Whether you are you are going through a life transition such as pregnancy or new motherhood, or struggling to make the baby you have always wanted due to infertility, the days can be so up and down. And if you are single and trying to navigate the world of dating (pre or post-divorce), the loneliness can be hard to bear at times. I'd like you to know, you don't have to bear it alone.

I am a South Asian therapist from India. I deeply understand what it means to be a
Woman
of Color in White spaces. I am a culturally sensitive & competent therapist who understands and emphasizes the importance of learning your cultural background and how it frames our perspective of the world. I understand that we truly exist through intersections and our identities shape how we "fit in" or "belong". My background stems from Rehabilitation and Counseling as well as working with a First Episode Psychosis clinic. I feel I bring a very rich level of knowledge to patients as they begin their journey to meeting their goals.

My expertise aligns best with adults with ADHD and/or Autism, religious trauma, sexual trauma, perfectionism, codependency, depression, anxiety, existential dread,
women
ready to reclaim their power, and those ready to improve their boundaries and communication.
Imagine a recent mental health challenge. Maybe the trauma you’ve carried suddenly brought you to your knees, or your neurodivergence made you fear you’ll always be behind. Now imagine how that challenge may change if you have a relationship with a therapist who you genuinely like and trust - who never loses sight of your strengths even if you do, helps you understand your unique brain with developmental neuroscience, gives you tools and perspective shifts to make your struggle easier, holds a safe space to process all of your traumas, and believes in you so fiercely that you start to believe in yourself. Sound helpful? Let’s talk.

I work primarily with
female
adolescents and young adults with a history of chronic illness, trauma, perfectionism, depression, anxiety, and/or mood disorders.
Currently Accepting Clients ( Telehealth Only)-My name is Vanessa Guerero and I am a clinical therapist with Winter to Spring Wellness. Prior to being in Asheville for almost a decade, I originally hail from Miami, Fl. I am a proud daughter of Cuban immigrants and a first-generation college student. As a teen I had my own battles with physical and mental wellness, difficulties with acculturation as well as struggled with cultural stigma in regard to mental health care. Through my own work, I have been able to find healing and am now honored to support others who struggle with their own mental wellness and similar issues.

I specialize in supporting
female
-identifying individuals and parents preparing for or experiencing life changes both big and small. You felt like you had things figured out and were cruising along, or you eagerly anticipated welcoming a new baby. Then you realized that you’re feeling drained, on edge, overwhelmed, you're wasting time on mindless distractions, and have lost sight of the parent you are or wanted to be. Or maybe you noticed your relationships with others started to become strained, angry, or distant. I can support you in figuring out what’s causing those feelings and how to get back to who you once were… only better!

I help young adult
women
feel confident, competent, & in control of their lives. My clients are exhausted like you are. Despite being hard working, determined, & creative, they still feel stuck in a loop. They feel like they’re drowning in a storm of stress, high expectations & confusion about the path ahead-- it’s a full time job keeping their head just above the rising water. They vacillate between feeling powerful & powerless, motivated & avoidant, on top of the world & crushed beneath it’s weight. Sometimes they have a formal diagnosis of Anxiety, Depression, or Trauma, and sometimes... well, sometimes life is just hard.

I create a safe space so that you can discover the sources causing patterns identified as unproductive so that renewal and recovery becomes a possibility. I work with 18-65 y/o
women
of all gender and sexual identities who are looking to heal from wounds of their past that have caused patterns they feel stuck in and who want freedom. I utilize somatic, IFS, mindfulness and attachment based interventions from the past 13 years of my training, guidance and experience as a mental health counselor and addiction specialist.

I specialize in helping individuals (adults, seniors, male and
female
veterans and the family members of veterans) who struggle with mental health and substance abuse issues.
My practice is not accepting new clients at this time. I commend you for being here. It takes courage and strength to ask for help. I believe as human beings we are resilient and often intuitively know what we need to do to heal. Unfortunately sometimes that healing can be thwarted by seemingly insurmountable barriers such as depression, anxiety, history of trauma, or substance abuse. Let's work together to create more effective coping skills so you may actually live, rather than just survive, your life. I find that the best results in treatment stem from focusing on people's strengths rather than their weaknesses.

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
