Do you struggle with people-pleasing tendencies that affect your relationships with others? Do you tend to put others' feelings and needs before your own? Do you struggle with setting boundaries and often avoid conflict? Now more than ever, people are feeling overwhelmed by the need to “do it all”. Putting others' needs before your own and not taking care of yourself can lead to long-term negative effects on your physical and mental health. I believe that there is hope and encourage others to “fill their cup”!

I work well with clients struggling with mood disorders, grief/loss, low self esteem, body image distress, life transitions, relationship difficulty, and those wanting health/life coaching.
Accepting new clients! Are you seeking change in your life, feeling depressed and unmotivated, or need a safe space for personal growth and discovery? Choosing to go to therapy takes courage and picking a therapist who you feel is a good fit for you can be a daunting task. I believe that the therapeutic process works best as a collaborative effort and that together we can make lasting changes. I feel strongly that balancing acceptance and change is valuable in this work and that clients can have both.

*Please Inquire: (updated 8/22)* When in session, I want to foster safe spaces where challenging conversations and vulnerable emotions can be explored and processed, and achievements are celebrated. When stress, anxiety, depression, grief, and other emotional distress occurs, I meet my clients where they are at. Just because we can do something alone, does not mean we have to. Whatever stage of life you are in, let's work through those personal transitions and obstacles. Thus, I believe the best clinical relationships come when both of us are open, curious, and eager for the growth to come from session-to-session.

Only accepting EMDR intensive clients. Have you not made the progress you would've liked in weekly therapy? You're self-aware of where your issues lie, but you just haven't been able to move past them. What if you could feel lighter, more content, and more confident? You may be a good fit for an EMDR intensive if: You're experiencing recurring themes, insecurities, or narratives in your life, your past casts a shadow on your daily life and relationships, you're eager to dive deeper and make a radical shift, you don't want to spend months or years in talk therapy. You're ready for big change and deep, intentional work.

I specialize in self esteem, emotional loneliness, & communication issues.
Something - some event / loneliness /feeling like a fraud / feeling like something is missing - brought you to look for a resource at this particular time. Wondering "what's wrong with me" What is the message in the difficulty you are having? The answers lie within that message. It is in discovering - or rediscovering - of who you are that you need. It is finding out and getting back to who you genuinely are - only then can you live authentically. Only then can you see your way through. Don't change into someone else. Find - rediscover - your own goodness - your own strengths. Rediscover who YOU are and be that fully.

Self Esteem Therapists

When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?

When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.

What are the signs of low self-esteem?

Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.

What causes low self-esteem?

Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.

How can therapy improve self-esteem?

Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
