With a specialization in EMDR therapy with children, the work here draws on creative approaches like art, play, and music to help the brain do what it's wired to do: heal — in a way that feels safe, paced, and uniquely yours.
Specializing in complex trauma, EMDR, Sandtray Therapy, anxiety, and children's mental health, I strive to tailor every session to meet you exactly where you are — whether that's untangling old patterns, processing grief, or simply building more ease in daily life. No two paths look the same, and that's exactly how it should be.

I firmly support Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and EMDR.
Therapy is a collaborative effort between the person seeking assistance and the professional. Often times you know what you need, you simply need a sounding board and perhaps someone less emotionally invested in the situation to help clarify and encourage action and change. A fresh perspective may give way to new ideas, new coping skills and more tools to help manage every day life and stressors.

Feel like you need to earn your worth, like being anything less than perfect isn't okay? Maybe you're living with an eating disorder that leaves you worrying about or compensating for what you put into your body and trying to control it's shape and size. Do you struggle with self-worth or figuring out and feeling okay with being who you really are? Maybe you've been through trauma or abuse that has left you searching for ways to cope.

My specialties include treating perinatal mood disorders, depression, anxiety, panic attacks and assisting people through difficult life circumstances (divorce, moving to a new area, caregiver stress, new parents, grief and loss and dealing with family conflict.) I have also recently been trained in EMDR.
Have you come to a point in your life where you feel like you could use some support? Well, you are in good company. In this fast-paced world with an endless list of demands and responsibilities we sometimes feel we are being pulled in so many different directions that we can’t keep up. With so much attention focused on work, our relationships, parenting etc. we often lose sight of what we want in life. Sometimes we find that we are merely going through the motions and missing out on the meaningful connections with the people that we love. I enjoy helping people connect back to who they are and what brings them joy in life.

Sometimes life unfolds in ways we never expected. The losses, stressors, and suffering we face can leave us feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of how to move forward. At times, we may not fully understand what we are carrying or grieving, but we can feel its weight. Therapy offers an opportunity to make sense of these experiences and reconnect with yourself, others, and what matters most. I work with individuals navigating grief, anxiety, trauma, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, emotional overwhelm, oppression, and questions of identity and purpose.

I integrate EMDR with ego state therapy, parts work, and somatic awareness to address the interconnected ways our experiences are held across the mind, body, and nervous system.
I approach therapy from a holistic, strength-based perspective, grounded in the belief that healing begins with understanding what your mind and body learned to do in order to survive. I recognize that the wounds we carry do not always trace back to a single event. Often, they are woven into experiences of attachment, safety, connection, and belonging—shaping how we relate to ourselves and others. The nervous system can hold what words cannot, and the patterns we carry often reflect how we learned to protect, cope, and endure. Together, we can explore what becomes possible when these protective parts no longer have to work so hard.

EMDR Therapists
Who is EMDR for?
EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.
Why do people need EMDR?
People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.
What problems does EMDR treat?
First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.
What happens in EMDR therapy?
First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
