I desire to be a therapist that provides the space and place for someone to walk into the counseling room and can know that they are seen and heard. I love working with children, teens and adults. I utilize cognitive-behavioral techniques and a variety of other methods to help each person that enters into my office. I know that beginning a therapeutic relationship is not an easy task, and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve.

I have a warm, collaborative, & direct approach to therapy. I recognize life can get messy, leaving us feeling stuck, overwhelmed, worn down by stress, or uncertain about how to move forward. I primarily work with couples, and also support individuals grappling with complicated relationships, identity issues, change, difficult life transitions, or making sense of challenging experiences. I believe all people inherently hold strength and the capacity to move through their challenges & grow, and that safe, supportive relationships - whether in therapy, with a partner, or family and friends - are part of our health.

Many of my clients are high-performing, deeply empathetic individuals who have learned to mask their pain through perfectionism, people-pleasing, and over-functioning. They often come to me feeling burned out, disconnected from themselves, and unsure how to express their own needs after years of prioritizing others. In our work together, we’ll focus on rebuilding a relationship with your inner world, your emotions, your body, your history, and your voice. I bring a trauma-informed, somatic lens to healing, drawing on the mind-body connection to help you move from just surviving to truly living.

I specialize in supporting adults with anxiety, OCD, and a history of trauma.
Maybe distressing thoughts or feelings are making it hard to fully engage in life. Maybe painful experiences have left you hooked on the past, or so worried about the future that the present slips by. Or maybe things feel fine on the surface, but you've hit a wall, whether with yourself, in a relationship, or in a pattern you can't quite name or challenge. Even the most thoughtful, competent people can get stuck repeating strategies that no longer work. Your brain and body can learn something new: That's what this work is for.

Living with chronic pain, I’m intimately aware of the toll it takes on the body, mind, and spirit— how it’s woven into the fabric of all aspects of living, how it has a tendency to keep us tethered to fear, hopelessness, and isolation. I believe in validating the reality of what is chronic and pervasive. I also believe it is possible to soften the grasp these experiences have on our lives. I’m especially passionate about supporting folx with conditions that are often invalidated and overlooked, such as IC, ENDO, & PCOS. And as a highly sensitive person (HSP), I’m deeply committed to supporting those with (extra) tender hearts.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists
How long does OCD treatment take?
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.

What happens if OCD is not treated?
Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.

Are there medications for OCD?
Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.

Can OCD come back after treatment?
Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
