Life is hard. Intense emotions, life transitions, difficulty with relationships, mental health concerns, trauma, rejection and loneliness; are only a few of the things we can struggle with at any given time. But you don’t have to deal with these issues alone. Counseling can serve as a place for you to process past hurts and life changes, identify unhelpful relationship patterns, find new coping skills and resources for strong emotions or mental health issues, or provide yourself with the ultimate self-care by setting an hour aside to reflect on where you are, where you want to go, and what obstacles are in the way of your goals.

I see the purpose of therapy as supporting people in becoming the person they want to be and in living the life they want to live. To get there, things that do not serve - such as trauma, outdated beliefs, attachment issues - need to be examined and healed. Stressors and anxiety needs to be addressed. This is the path we travel together. Key areas of focus for my practice are grief, addiction / recovery, aging, and soulful living, although many of my clients are outside these particular categories but are motivated by the possibility of the life that calls to them.

I have also provided Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.
I have been a clinical social worker for over twelve years and have worked in a variety of settings. I have worked with individuals diagnosed with Depression, Anxiety, Substance Use and Aspergers Disease. I have also worked with individuals with psychosis. My desire is to listen to my clients to gain a better understanding of issues that brought them to therapy. This will allow me to better understand the goals that they have set for themselves and identify strategies to move forward. My belief is that each individual has their own strengths but sometimes support and reflection are needed to reflect and build upon those strengths

If you feel stuck in your thoughts, constantly overthinking, or waiting for something to go wrong, you’re not alone. You might replay conversations, question your decisions, or feel on edge even when things seem fine on the outside. This often shows up in relationships, at work, or in your day-to-day life, and it can be exhausting to carry on your own.

I specialize in working with trans and nonbinary individuals navigating the layered impacts of complex trauma—particularly trauma rooted in relationships, identity invalidation, and systemic oppression. Many of my clients come to therapy carrying the weight of early attachment wounds, chronic misattunement, boundary violations, and experiences of erasure or violence, both within their personal lives and the world at large. Trauma doesn’t just live in the past—it lives in the nervous system, in relationships, in the way we move through the world.

I believe therapy should be a collaborative effort between client and therapist. While I may share some evidenced-based ideas during our sessions, only you are the expert on what works for you. My sessions will generally follow a cognitive behavioral approach, meaning that we will examine, and possibly shift, your thoughts and perspectives on life situations that are causing you enough distress to want to pursue change. Together we will form a plan of action that is the right fit for you at this point in time.

My therapeutic approach blends meaning-making, mindfulness, and evidence-based techniques to help you reframe unhelpful thought patterns, stay grounded, and move toward greater clarity and purpose.
Have you lost a dear friend or family member, and moving forward without them is too painful? Maybe you changed jobs, moved to a different area, or ended a relationship, and your “new normal” is too uncomfortable. Maybe you feel anxious about your upcoming retirement or planning for life without your aging parents. Maybe you feel resentment because your life has not turned out the way you planned. Grief, sadness, and anxiety are normal responses to life changes, but they can become overwhelming and leave us feeling unsure of how to heal and move forward.
