I completed my post-Graduate certificate in Sexual Health and Sex education at the University of Michigan and am a fully AASECT Certified Sex Therapist.

I am passionate about helping women, & adolescents who are going through the hardships life can bring us. Living in today's society brings challenges that can feel suffocating on top of daily life tasks and hardships. Avoiding painful areas of our lives can lead to addictions to cover up those feelings, however dulling the pain with harmful addictive behaviors can further add hurt to ourselves and the ones around us. We each have strengths and assets, instead of avoiding the challenging areas, I encourage clients to engage in personal growth and exploration, to dig in and discover the areas they can evolve and grow.

Our counseling exists to serve individuals and couples through professional counseling. Our counseling goal is to impact lives on a spiritual, emotional, and mental level. Counseling also involves the sharing of personal problems, concerns, and stories with a professional who is skilled at helping the client or clients come to a resolution or solution about their particular situation. The general goals for the client are that he or she can identify the issue(s), develop a plan of action, and then implement that plan to move forward and progress in spite of their spiritual, emotional and/or mental setbacks.

I have accompanied many people on parts of their journeys toward self-discovery, self-acceptance and empowerment as they have experienced depression, anxiety and confusion. Lynnel Brewster is the Clinical Director at Sanford Behavioral Health. She has worked in the health field for 24 years. She is a registered nurse as well as a licensed professional counselor. Lynnel’s years of experience include working in hospital and home settings, residential addiction treatment centers, and private practice. Lynnel also has her limited license in marriage and family therapy. In addition, sh is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. Lynnel has counseled groups, families, and individuals with substance use and co-occurrng disorders. She is backed by a mulitdimentional team of clinical and medical professionals.

My family experiences together with specialized training in relationships, domestic abuse, and parenting have prepared me to work with a variety of family dynamics. I have two Masters degrees in Psychology -clinical and counseling. I have a doctorate in clinical psychology.
