For more than 18 years, I have held various positions in the Social Service industry including managing a private practice, case manager, individual and group counselor, supervisor, trainer and clinic director. "I Believe In Life On Life Terms" that mainly entailed the provision of counseling services to consumers of various ages in the homes/community reporting a history of trauma, abuse, economic poverty, homeless, lack of adult guidance, substance use that precipitated unhealthy learned behaviors to survive. The consumer’s needs were individualized based on the uniqueness of each personality and life dynamics. Within the therapeutic process and environment, the need was a genuine, safe environment of emotional support and acceptance towards desired changes.

Individuals looking to manage or eliminate depression, trauma, PTSD, ADHD, bipolar disorder, low self-esteem, health challenges, career stress, relationship issues, grief and loss, identity/immigrant experiences and transitions work with me to identify and implement strategies to manage or eliminate stress and distress. Through identifying, understanding and evaluating emotional states, thinking and behavior patterns we eliminate and replace unproductive habits with more adaptive patterns toward an increased sense of well-being and ability to thrive and function satisfactorily.

Adolescence is a transitional period where teens navigate biological and cognitive changes, independence and relationships with peers, parents and other authority figures. This can lead to behavioural issues, mood changes and cognitive challenges that cause anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, ADHD, ASD and more. We'll explore the experiences, patterns and relationships that either cause, maintain or worsen these patterns and collaboratively identify appropriate strategies to alleviate or eliminate these difficulties.

There is nothing like being listened to and understood on a deep level, with genuine interest, unconditional positive regard, congruence, empathy and acceptance. This is what I strive to offer in therapy, as we explore together your hopes and dreams, your losses and regrets, your longings and fears. Many people come to therapy to free themselves from self-defeating patterns, maladaptive behaviors and the legacy of past traumas, so they can be more truly themselves in relation to others and live with greater satisfaction and meaning.

I also I use different modalities to help address those concerns. My method of practice is to first plan, assess and then treat. We begin our sessions developing a "therapeutic relationship" by getting to know you. Methodically providing psycho-education, emotional support and mixed modalities to address each of your concerns and throughout treatment we reelevate your progress based on your personal needs.
