Betrayal, abandonment and shame. I work with these core wounds we hold about ourselves on a subconscious level, such as “I am not good enough”, "I do not matter" or “I will be abandoned.” These beliefs are a result of emotional pain and traumatic experiences that occurred in childhood, and are responsible for many of the issues we bring to our relationships, romantic and otherwise. That’s why recognizing and reprogramming these core wounds is so essential to our everyday mental health. I help my clients navigate the most intimate and awkward of conversations - nothing is off the table.
My approach is trauma-informed and relationship-based with an expertise in sexual intimacy. I incorporate person-centered therapy, relational therapy, and emotionally focused techniques. I also borrow from CBT and other evidence-based approaches. My aim is to partner with you in working towards the goals we set together.
In our sessions, I prioritize your unique needs and desires. I will not just sit back and passively listen. We will move with intention at a pace and in a direction that feels comfortable for you. If you’re looking for a therapist who is interested in listening and collaborating instead of advice giving and diagnosing, I’d be honored to meet with you.
