Hi, I'm Nathan. I'm a therapist located in downtown Kansas City, Missouri specializing in helping wounded and traumatized nervous systems heal through an eclectic approach. I don't see healing being about fixing or optimizing yourself, I see it as sitting with difficult truths you've been protecting yourself from—shame, grief, rage, ambivalence—long enough to understand what they're telling you and what you can do for yourself with that information. I work with adults who are stuck—caught between performance and disconnection, knowing intellectually yet feeling unable to move or stuck reliving their worst days, over and over.
My approach includes techniques like EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), DBT skills, mindfulness & others. My role is to create a boundaried, caring, genuine space where that work can happen. Not as an expert dispensing answers, but as a collaborative partner helping you step into the deeper work your brain is literally wired to be able to do.
More than any single approach or technique, the most powerful resource I can offer is a safe and compassionate presence with you for an hour a week in decently comfy, private space.
