Many of my clients are couples who feel truly on the brink—talking about separation or divorce, unsure if their differences are even bridgeable. They may be wrestling with affairs or broken trust, mismatched sexual desire, or deep rifts around faith, values, or politics. Often one partner wants to fight for the relationship while the other is ambivalent or exhausted. They are thoughtful, motivated, and want a skilled guide who can offer a structured, honest process rather than just endless conversations.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, former MFT program director, and current Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Couple & Relationship Therapy. I specialize in complex, high-stakes couples work—mixed desire, mixed faith, mixed politics, affairs, and chronic conflict—and offer both weekly sessions and focused couples intensives in Hawaii
