I practice psychotherapy and psychoanalysis in California. The therapist's office is a place unlike any other in society. It is a place to speak freely, to say what's on your mind that you can't tell others, and to heal by so doing. If you feel anxious, hopeless, frustrated or angry; if you lack confidence, find yourself without real friendships, or are unable to sustain a lasting relationship, therapy might be for you. My aim is to help you understand and experience yourself in new or long-forgotten ways so that you may, in the words of William Butler Yeats, "live with a clearer, perhaps even with a fiercer life."
I try to listen closely and reflect what you say in such a way that you can hear yourself more clearly. This way of doing therapy helps to develop insight into the ways you unconsciously relate to yourself and others, and to your work and love life. It encourages personal responsibility for what has been unconscious and fosters lasting change.
If you're going through a rough patch that won't seem to smooth over, if you're curious about self-exploration, or if you have questions about my practice, I invite you to reach out.
