Our time is valuable and it’s important to me that the client feels that value when ending each session. This is the client’s time to enter the space in a judgement-free, safe, and confidential setting. It’s a place to take a bit of a break from needing to be the one who has the answers in high-stress and intense scenarios. It’s also a space where to take the time - at your own pace - to process through trauma or any other stressors you may be facing. Life can be hard. But we can still find joy, fulfillment, and hope for the future. In order to get there, let’s first talk about it.
My therapeutic approach is one that is very much a collaborative effort. I follow a strengths-based model, including evidenced-based practices such as CBT and Motivational Interviewing. Meeting the client where they’re at increases buy-in of the overall process, and creates a space for empowerment to build skills that will last beyond a 60-minute session.
