Dual Diagnosis
Dual Diagnosis essentially means that when an individual is using ANY mood altering substance there is a co-occurring diagnosis. Addiction does not stand alone, EVER, it is intrinsically related to coping with stress, frustration and feeling unsatisfied, among others (thus, exhibiting symptoms of anxiety, depression, and/or trauma).
