I dreamed of becoming a therapist when I was young and my passion for helping others has grown stronger with time. Mental health has great meaning in my life and I hope I can work with you to help you with your mental health. I have experience in working with individuals dealing with stress and anxiety, physical disabilities, learning disabilities, depression, anger management, homelessness, poverty, intimate partner violence, domestic violence, substance and alcohol use disorders, and human trafficking, among other issues. I use a variety of methods to help my clients dissect and understand each aspect of their mental health.
I use cognitive restructuring to help my clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns or beliefs and replace them with more balanced, realistic and positive ones. But I'll use a variety of approaches so you have multiple routes to achieve your goals. I'll work with you to eliminate self-judgment and overcome the judgment of others.
I want to help you so that you aren't defined by a diagnosis or label and so you can express yourself as your true self. I’ll provide a safe and affirming environment and allow you to make your own decisions. I will actively listen to your needs and concerns and provide guidance to address the root cause of your issue through healthy problem solving.
