About
I work to create a welcoming atmosphere for clients to explore their lives in a new way. I have experience helping adults & couples with anxiety, depression, life transitions, communication, self-compassion, and boundary setting. By bringing more attention to our internal thoughts & feelings, we can often better understand what fears, defenses, & wounds may be getting in our way. This psychodynamic approach, IFS, as well as mindfulness & interpersonal neurobiology all inform how I connect with clients. Through our therapeutic relationship we explore your early life & bring unconscious thoughts & patterns into conscious awareness.
I tend to view the therapy process through the lens of the family system as a whole & how past influences may be hindering the way we operate in our current lives. By bringing awareness & compassion to these dynamics, we can begin deciding which aspects to keep & which to let go.
I value authenticity in myself & others & strive to provide clients a genuine, warm, yet honest perspective. That being said, I believe humor (when used appropriately) can be an important part of the healing process and I appreciate the balance it brings when processing what are often heavy or challenging issues.
