Hello, I am Natalie Hartney, a LMHC, or Professional Counselor, in Indiana. I use casual conversation, curiosity, and humor to get to the heart of a client's lived experience. The focus areas of my practice include working with individuals and couples of all identities to identify unhelpful patterns, and create change. I approach therapy from a directive CBT perspective, that is, providing information about how brains and nervous systems work, to help you better understand and make smart choices in responses to situations. I use education, exploration, mindfulness, and self acceptance as core values when working with clients.
I work across all adult age ranges, and across the rainbow of inclusivity. I am an ally of individuals who are seeking help. I am most comfortable working with clients who are ready for change, and take an active role in healing old wounds, releasing things that no longer work, and building new skill sets.
My tone is casual. I use appropriate humor and warmth to create a space of openness and acceptance. I use appropriate self disclosure, and will support my clients through hardships, as well as join my clients in their victories and celebrations.
