Are you feeling anxious, sad and alone? Do you feel overwhelmed by your issues and stuck in your present situation? Do you you need support to help guide you through these issues so that you can be in a better place? I had a client with similar issues. She was 63 years old who lost her job due to downsizing. She was also divorced. Many of her friends left and the ones she had were not supportive. She was always a career person working as an Assistant Director of Human Resources. Since her job was terminated, she felt no one would hire her again and she felt worthless.
I discuss people's coping skills and access their strengths and resources and find solutions to their problems. For example, with my previous client, I discussed her strengths- she was a very good Assistant Director of Human Resources and was well liked by staff. She transferred those skills to another job and I helped her with that.
I'm a seasoned psychotherapist with extensive training and experience in the field of mental health. For the past 30 years I've worked at major academic hospitals in NYC where I've gained expertise in working with a multitude of individuals with various issues, some of which are the diagnosis of a new illness, divorce, children leaving home, aging, loss.
