First time in therapy? I believe that therapy is about more than "working things out." The therapeutic relationship is just that: a relationship. I provide a safe and supportive environment to express emotions that are often difficult to express in other settings; anger, grief, sadness, despair. It is my hope to work with you to better understand yourself, and create a sense of safety within yourself. No person exists in a vacuum, so I will encourage you to reflect on your past, and how it influences your present. I believe that lasting change, requires diving deep to address deep rooted patterns.
I incorporate aspects of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), as well as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) into my practice alongside traditional talk therapy. I’m not here to tell you everything will be perfect. But I am here to sit with you in the discomfort and find a way to make this life a little more meaningful for you, to find connection.
Do you struggle with black and white thinking or feeling disconnected from yourself? Do you feel exhausted, overwhelmed, frustrated, by the uncertainty of what other people think of you and what their perception is of you? Do you feel hopeless that this anxiety could be better? Now more than ever, teens and young adults feel uncertain about the future.

I work with teens and young adults who may be experiencing difficulty with life transitions, who may have been involved with on-going mental health institutions, and those wanting to explore their sexuality or gender identities. During our initial sessions, I'll work with you to gain better insight to family history and how this has impacted you. Most of my clients see improvements within 3 months

I use a collection different therapy modalities depending on what works for you! Not all clients benefit from cut and dry CBT, so we will work together to gain a better understanding of what kind of support you're looking for. Narrative therapy can be helpful for processing issues related to self esteem, where DBT is more effective for emotional regulation.
