Nashville Psychological Assessment and Learning's Groups

Social Skills Group

Many children easily learn how to interact with a variety of people naturally and without additional help. However, some children need explicit instruction and help to learn how to interact with others appropriately. Social skills groups allow an opportunity to teach and practice these skills within a small group of other children or adolescents. Children can practice skills such as joint attention, initiating and responding, playing with peers, communicating wants and needs, and following rules. We utilize research-based curricula that include a variety of instructional techniques. Social skills groups meet once per week and last for approximately an hour.
