Through the use of Narrative Therapy and other evidence-based approaches, I offer you a comforting and validating space for you to re-write your story.
The world we live in today can be chaotic and scary. The constant stress and worry about your relationships, physical and mental health, career, and more can feel overwhelming to the point of completely shutting down. Some days you may even feel like falling asleep and never waking up again. This is not the life you thought you would live. Instead, you were hoping for comfort, security, confidence in yourself, and joy that radiates from deep within your soul. You want relationships that support you and meet your needs and desires, a career that feels satisfying and the ability to look in the mirror and smile back at what you see.

Everyone needs help sometimes. We use the resources, strategies, and supports that we have to work through the difficult times in life, but can reach the point where we need something more to face the challenges that we're up against. If you have reached a point where the burden has become too great, know that you're not alone. My goal is to walk with you, offering hope, healing and strategies to face the challenges that you’re up against. You are worthy of more, and there is no better time to seek help.

I utilize approaches such as, but not limited to Narrative Therapy, Attachment Theory, CBT, EFT, SFT, IFS, EMDR and Integrative Therapy while considering the multicultural aspects of each client.
Most will experience times in life when it seems everything is upside down and they're just hanging on. Sometimes it's just hard identifying the source of your pain. In either case, reaching out to a skilled therapist makes all the sense in the world. I work closely with clients affected by depression, anxiety, trauma, relational issues, grief, loss and racial injustice indignities. My focus is working with women through transitions in life, individuals desiring self-esteem development, and couples who want to heal and transform their relationship into a richer and more connected union.

I’ll integrate relational and narrative therapies to meet you where you are on your healing journey.
Hello! I’m so grateful you’ve chosen to be here. I see the human experience as being similar to a cup of coffee; both complex and nuanced. Much like coffee, some experiences can leave us feeling bitter while others leave us feeling fulfilled. As your therapist, I will meet you wherever you are in your process and we’ll work collaboratively to navigate these lived experiences. Together we will build a therapeutic relationship that fosters self-exploration, curiosity, self-acceptance, and empowerment.

Working from a strength-based approach along with Solution Focus Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy will allow me to tailor sessions that are specific to your needs and desires.
As we navigate life, we often face "barriers" that prevent us from moving forward and taking charge of our lives. The "barriers" that we face in life can be debilitating, but there are ways to break those "barriers" and create new paths towards your future. The new path created can lead one to a better quality of life.

I use many different therapies including Cognitive-Behavioral, Narrative, and Internal Family Systems.
Many of us have unknowingly rejected or silenced parts of ourselves that don’t fit with our idea of who we are supposed to be. As a result, life can feel out of balance or even inauthentic. My hope is to create a safe and accepting space for you to feel empowered to implement positive changes in your life. I work with individuals who struggle with depression, anxiety and worry, substance use, stress, trauma, abuse, anger, fear, grief and loss, guilt and shame, and other challenges. I also work with couples who are having difficulty connecting and experiencing issues related to trust, intimacy, and affection.

Psychoeducation to develop your understanding of your inner world, CBT to help adjust your course, and narrative therapy to help you find yourself.
I love to work with clients to develop a deeper understanding of themselves, who they are, and how they connect with the world. Society is a complicated thing, and it didn't come with a manual, but we can work together to to learn, or decide, what it will be for you. Clients who find themselves in my office may have concerns about their relationships, about whether or not they're worthy as people, about how their mind works, or might just have questions about what it means to be a person. I see adults, teenagers, individuals, and couples. Occasionally I run groups.

Narrative Therapists

Is narrative therapy evidence-based?

Narrative therapy is not well-studied, and it may not be as effective in treating mental health conditions when compared with evidence-based treatments such as cognitive behavioral therapy. Some small studies do show that depressed and anxious individuals who were treated with narrative therapy reported improvement in anxiety and depression symptoms.

How long does narrative therapy last?

Narrative therapy is less structured when compared with psychoanalysis, for example. Narrative therapy is more open-ended and may not be limited to a set number of sessions. It is common for clients to be in therapy for a few months, and sometimes a year or longer. Patients see their therapist one to two times a week, though the exact schedule and timeline may vary depending on a person’s challenges and progress. Individuals can also practice the principles of narrative therapy after treatment has ended.

Does narrative therapy work?

Narrative therapy can help a person manage or reduce symptoms of conditions like depression or anxiety. This type of therapy encourages a person to reflect on the moments of their life when their particular problem was not at the forefront of their minds—perhaps life celebrations, achievements, and other successes. The individual is encouraged to rewrite their storyline as if their particular problem was not part of their life. This therapy may offer benefits that are hard to measure.

What are the possible limitations of narrative therapy?

Narrative therapy is person-centered or client-centered, and the health professional pays more attention to the subjective narratives that are constructed by the client, as opposed to other objective measures. The therapist privileges the individual’s perspective over all others. This open form may feel frustrating for individuals seeking a more structured approach; certainly, no one therapy type will work for every individual.
