As your therapist, I hope to help you build a deeper understanding as well as practical tools which allow you to foster deeper connection with yourself and with those who mean the most to you. I am particularly skilled at working with LGBTQIA+/queer folks, people impacted by neurodiversity (ASD, ADHD, etc.), and relationships in conflict. I believe you deserve a life filled with meaning and connection. Let's figure out how to make it happen!

You’re struggling with past painful experiences impacting your current relationships & preventing you from living life on your terms. Past therapists with traditional, rigid & impersonal approaches were not helpful for you; leaving you feeling that nothing will ever help or change. I believe healing is possible & therapy incorporating an understanding of oppressive systems we navigate can provide a space to heal. Challenging internal messaging rooted in trauma & systems of oppression can help turn off the auto-pilot or get off the merry-go-round to live a life of meaningful choice, authenticity, connection, belonging & joy.

Drawing from a diverse array of therapeutic modalities, including Relational Cultural Theory, Narrative Therapy, Eco-Therapy, and Gestalt, I tailor my approach to meet the unique needs of each client.
My ideal client comes to therapy seeking a space of understanding and acceptance, where all parts of their identity are embraced. They might be grappling with issues related to gender identity, sexual orientation, spirituality, or navigating neurodivergence in a world that often misunderstands them. Their challenges could range from dealing with the aftermath of religious trauma, seeking balance in their mental health, to finding harmony within the intersectionality of their identity and personal experiences. I also work with disordered eating, relationship to food and body, as well as body and muscle dysmorphia.

I use Narrative theory, Gestalt, MotivatInterviewing, CBT, mindfulness, IFS, EFT, ACT.
Hey There! I believe that every thought, emotion, and behavior that a person entertains is actively shaping their current reality. I view our therapeutic relationship as a partnership. You & I will define your intentions for therapy and create active goals to shift patterns. I have always had a strong calling to support others. I believe that people can learn to accept, love, and claim authenticity by moving away from patterns that are no longer serving the individual, by actively exploring their unique interests & evolving needs. I respect and acknowledge all relationship styles & sexual identities. My goal is to hold space.

Using internal family systems, Buddhist psychology and narrative therapy, we will help these parts heal from and put down the burdens they carry.
Sometimes the state of our world can feel so scary and heartbreaking that we feel immobilized. Much of our potential is blocked by feeling overwhelmed by the day to day challenge of struggling to advocate for ourselves in our communities, the world, even in our own thoughts and beliefs! It is easy to feel anxious, alone and simultaneously at war with ourselves. I emphasize serving individuals that experience marginalized identities and see myself as your co-conspirator. I work with issues of identity and non-normative experiences, in the context of gender, sexuality as well as queer experience beyond that framework

The theories I pull from include person-centered, narrative therapy, and ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy).
Hoping to share space with QTBIPOC folks and support in processing past and present experiences that may be challenging to hold. I tend to veer away from a medical approach with an emphasis on diagnoses, and rather work to support folks in deepening their understanding of self and others, while exploring how to live in ways that feel meaningful.

I utilize narrative, IFS (parts work), feminist, person-centered, and existential theories and work from an anti-racist, anti-colonial, sex positive, poly, queer and trans affirming perspective.
Whether seeking individual, relational, or family therapy, I believe we are all multi-storied beings and that everyone is the expert of their own story and experience. Along the way, we collect stories-stories that others tell about us, stories we tell about ourselves, the story we tell about the problem, and stories we inherit from dominant knowledge or culture. These narratives shape our perception of ourselves and others and can influence relational connection which often contributes to why one might seek out therapy.

Hi! Thank you for being here. Therapy is a journey, and even being on this page represents a significant step. Whether you’re an individual, couple, throuple, polycule, or friendship unit, you have a place here and I’m excited to work with you! Therapy is often difficult and vulnerable, as well as tender and joyful. I strive to embrace all of these pieces, so our work together will likely involve a shared smile or two in between the heavier moments. I hope we can work together to define and create more fulfilling relationships, from the one you have with yourself to those you have with others: platonic, romantic, familial, and more!

Narrative Therapists

Is narrative therapy evidence-based?

Narrative therapy is not well-studied, and it may not be as effective in treating mental health conditions when compared with evidence-based treatments such as cognitive behavioral therapy. Some small studies do show that depressed and anxious individuals who were treated with narrative therapy reported improvement in anxiety and depression symptoms.

How long does narrative therapy last?

Narrative therapy is less structured when compared with psychoanalysis, for example. Narrative therapy is more open-ended and may not be limited to a set number of sessions. It is common for clients to be in therapy for a few months, and sometimes a year or longer. Patients see their therapist one to two times a week, though the exact schedule and timeline may vary depending on a person’s challenges and progress. Individuals can also practice the principles of narrative therapy after treatment has ended.

Does narrative therapy work?

Narrative therapy can help a person manage or reduce symptoms of conditions like depression or anxiety. This type of therapy encourages a person to reflect on the moments of their life when their particular problem was not at the forefront of their minds—perhaps life celebrations, achievements, and other successes. The individual is encouraged to rewrite their storyline as if their particular problem was not part of their life. This therapy may offer benefits that are hard to measure.

What are the possible limitations of narrative therapy?

Narrative therapy is person-centered or client-centered, and the health professional pays more attention to the subjective narratives that are constructed by the client, as opposed to other objective measures. The therapist privileges the individual’s perspective over all others. This open form may feel frustrating for individuals seeking a more structured approach; certainly, no one therapy type will work for every individual.
