A place where we understand the arches and dips in your narrative, while taking the time to re-write one that honors the totality of your Being.
Therapy can hold a space of exploring where our inner observer is hiding and how we can pull their reaching hand through the unconscious rubble. Where we can point to elements in our self dialogue that fuel our dissatisfaction. Where we can feel the emotions that are in cohesion with our experience. This is where change lies and where we as an alliance can help facilitate a life you've been waiting to embark on. Whether it is addiction, familial conflict, identity disarray, lack of passion, anxiety spirals. depressive bruising, or relationship chaos, I offer you the space where we can combat these psychic tensions, together.

You are enough. Past experiences may have created a negative inner voice undercutting your self-worth and capacity for joy. People pleasing and perfectionism may have left you needing to do or be more, unable to enjoy the present. We will work together in a safe and non-judgmental space to rewrite your self-talk and your narrative. We will identify and prioritize your own needs, allowing you to be present with grace and acceptance as you navigate healing past wounds & face life's challenges. Therapy will empower you to recognize your intrinsic strengths, forging a new path toward a life of meaning and fulfillment.

Besides working with individual adults, I am also passionate about working with children and adolescents using trauma-informed sandtray therapy, play therapy, and narrative work.
Do you find yourself feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or defeated? Has worry taken over your life? Or maybe past trauma is resurfacing and is now also impacting your relationships while leaving you confused and frightened. While we often rationally believe in our strengths and potential for growth, our gut tends to reliably remind us that we are to blame, not good enough, unsafe, or powerless - because it feels so true. My deepest hope for our work together is for you to not only know that you are worthy of love and a fulfilled life but that you can also feel it in your body and live accordingly.

I use a holistic approach, incorporating interventions from narrative therapy, mindfulness, and somatic experiencing.
I believe we are all renegades, worthy of living a life of liberated love. Our binary world makes it challenging to feel accepted, leaving us fragmented and hindering our ability to connect with ourselves and others. I strive to create a safe and affirming space for clients to engage and connect with their whole self. I am passionate about working with individuals, partners, and the LGBTQIA+ community struggling with libido, erectile issues, self-esteem, trauma, spirituality, desire discrepancy, infidelity, intimacy, gender identity, and sexual orientation. My ideal clients are ready to fully show up and claim their pleasure.

I have training in various forms of therapy, primarily drawing from ACT, Narrative therapy, and EMDR to help you understand and process what has happened, why you feel, think, and act the way you do and to help you develop new insights and ways of being that feel more authentic to who you are and who you want to be.
Whether it’s due to genetics, difficult events in our childhood, unforeseen life circumstances, or painful relationships sometimes we feel like we have been created or forced into ways of being that are painful. Sometimes those traumas show up as depression or anxiety, sometimes as dissociation or feelings we don't belong. I’m passionate about working with folks who recognize the pain of big and small traumas alike, and care about making the world a better place for us all to exist in. Sometimes that means understanding what happened to us better, sometimes that means changing our relationships with others and/or ourselves.

I draw upon CBT, IFS, somatic therapy, narrative therapy, and solution-focused therapy to support the processing of trauma, fostering a holistic healing experience that encompasses both mind and body.
Our life experiences can lead us to question our identity and purpose in the world we live in. This can lead us to anxiety, depression, and trauma. Do you want to improve how you face challenges, function in your relationships, and face overwhelming feelings? I place heavy importance on addressing trauma. Trauma disintegrates the parts that make up your whole self, which can leave aspects of who you are hidden from your awareness. Left unaddressed, anxiety and depression can worsen, which can rob you of the necessary connection that all human beings need to thrive. I aim to help you process unresolved trauma.

I am trained in Narrative Therapy, Relational Gestalt therapy, and Somatic approaches.
I offer support for individuals who are feeling stuck and looking to foster joy through better relationships. Together, we’ll build greater awareness around anxieties, fears, triggers, or conflicts that get in the way of connection with others. We’ll work to identify your needs and further develop skills to communicate them. We'll spend time calling attention to beliefs, "shoulds" and narratives that might no longer serve you. We'll find the things that get in the way of self-compassion, and unpack them together.

Being human can be difficult. It comes with highs and lows, sometimes those highs and lows are frequently alternating, and sometimes they are not alternating enough. We all feel stuck at times, like things need to change, that things are out of control and moving too quickly, and we are exhausted from too much change, or maybe even someone dared to tell us we need to change. I am passionate about journeying with adolescents, adults, and families to discover helpful insights to live with a bit more ease, to stay more present, to increase your awareness about your humanness, or simply validate that being human can be difficult.

Feeling like you’re tied up in knots? You might need to go beyond talk therapy to find freedom. In a world that often tells us who to be, it can be tempting to mold ourselves into who we think we should be rather than embracing who we truly are. The relentless self doubts- that we are not good enough, that we are too much, or that we don’t matter at all- can make us feel trapped, creating a barrier between our true selves and the life we want to live. By focusing on the connection between the mind and body, I offer a integrative path to unraveling stuckness, mending old wounds and restoring your sense of aliveness and wellbeing.

Narrative Therapists

Is narrative therapy evidence-based?

Narrative therapy is not well-studied, and it may not be as effective in treating mental health conditions when compared with evidence-based treatments such as cognitive behavioral therapy. Some small studies do show that depressed and anxious individuals who were treated with narrative therapy reported improvement in anxiety and depression symptoms.

How long does narrative therapy last?

Narrative therapy is less structured when compared with psychoanalysis, for example. Narrative therapy is more open-ended and may not be limited to a set number of sessions. It is common for clients to be in therapy for a few months, and sometimes a year or longer. Patients see their therapist one to two times a week, though the exact schedule and timeline may vary depending on a person’s challenges and progress. Individuals can also practice the principles of narrative therapy after treatment has ended.

Does narrative therapy work?

Narrative therapy can help a person manage or reduce symptoms of conditions like depression or anxiety. This type of therapy encourages a person to reflect on the moments of their life when their particular problem was not at the forefront of their minds—perhaps life celebrations, achievements, and other successes. The individual is encouraged to rewrite their storyline as if their particular problem was not part of their life. This therapy may offer benefits that are hard to measure.

What are the possible limitations of narrative therapy?

Narrative therapy is person-centered or client-centered, and the health professional pays more attention to the subjective narratives that are constructed by the client, as opposed to other objective measures. The therapist privileges the individual’s perspective over all others. This open form may feel frustrating for individuals seeking a more structured approach; certainly, no one therapy type will work for every individual.
