Are you looking for a therapist that's easy to relate to, down to earth, and has experience that may help you reach your goals? Goals of learning how to manage your growing and developing teenagers behaviors? Goals of helping your family learn how to get along better? Goals of helping you to reduce your worrying, stress, depression, or just the daily struggles of life? My realistic and direct, yet gentle approach, has assisted others over the years in learning skills that have assisted many of them in managing life's stress.

My work with teens, couples, and families includes me first focusing on their needs and getting to know who they are. I then begin to gently challenge and test their realities, assisting them in becoming aware of how their thoughts affect their feelings, and how their feelings affect their behaviors.

My personal life experiences have given me the desire and passion to want to assist others in discovering their abilities. Their naturally ingrained ability to change undesired situations they may be in. I am a strong believer that you can honestly and truly accomplish anything you put your mind to!

Narissa L. Harris's Groups

Transitioning to High School

Similar to my transitioning to middle school group, this group helps teenagers discuss their concerns and fears about attending high school and being one step closer to adulthood. This group allows teenagers to feel safe enough to talk about this stage of development, the fears they face, concerns, peer pressures, and their future plans. In this group, teenagers learn coping skills to assist them in dealing with the evolving changes of attending high school and the fear of what happens next.

Cultural Awareness Trainings

In these trainings, I work with agencies, companies, organizations, and individuals assisting them in becoming more aware of cultural differences and stereotypes. By gently confronting these differences and stereotypes, one becomes more aware about how present culture is in every aspect of our lives.

Transitioning to Middle School

This groups helps pre-teens discuss their concerns and fears about attending middle school. Middle school can be an awkward time for pre-teens; their not teenagers yet, but are surrounded by teenagers and expected to behave as teenagers. This group allows pre-teens to feel safe enough to talk about the developmental stage they are in and learn coping skills to assist them in dealing with these difficult, yet exciting times.
