I had a psychology practice in Austin for 20 years, relocating to Albuquerque in 2012. As an outgrowth of my continuing work with clients from Texas, I have developed a specialty in providing internet therapy. Bolivar is a native of South Florida, where he attended Florida State University’s School of Social Work. His studies focused on child welfare and cultural studies. He graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor’s degree in International Affairs and Social Work. Immediately following his undergraduate studies, Bolivar knew his life’s work would be helping youth overcome trauma and strengthen families. These passions led Bolivar to a Master’s Degree in Social Work with a concentration in Child Welfare Studies.

I specialize in anxiety, depression, addictive patterns, eating disorder treatment including Binge Eating Disorder, Obesity, and personality disorders including Borderline Personality Disorder. I am certified in EMDR and well trained in working with trauma and PTSD. If you find yourself stuck in the same self defeating patterns or constantly overreact in anger, I can help. My ideal client is a survivor of human trafficking dealing with overwhelming shame, guilt, and feelings of worthlessness due to the stigma attached to their experience. They need a safe and validating space to heal and understand that being trafficked was not their fault. Their goals are to reclaim their sense of self, overcome emotional and mental challenges, and rebuild their fragmented identity. They want to feel valued, whole, and complete, free from the burdens of their past, so they can lead fulfilling lives. Their motivation is to regain their dignity and self-worth after the trauma they've survived.
