I find a lot of our experience comes down to patterns. Our brains quickly assess a situation, choose from a list of pre-formed thoughts and behaviors, and push "GO."
We have patterns of engagement with others, patterns of thought about ourselves, our life, our work and so on. These patterns are helpful shortcuts but are learned without conscious approval and play out without our notice. In therapy, the hope is to identify and shift these patterns.
Helping people gain insight into their patterns of thought, relating, and behavior is a strength and strong passion of mine. I want to see people become who they want to be and connect with others in a mutually beneficial way.
