Everyone who comes to counseling is experiencing some form and level of fear- whether they are fully aware of it or not. The capacity for fear serves to protect us- but limits as well. Many experience anger and not the underlying fears. Fears can lead to counter-productive behaviors that hurt the self or others in forms of passing up opportunities, as self-sabotage, and avoiding or ending relationships. It is rewarding to help people to identify, address and work through self-imposed or other-imposed limits, have healthy boundaries, achieve their goals and find deeper meaning in life.

Therapy is about the experience of getting to know ourselves again and reacquainting ourselves with who we are at our core. We live in such a fast-paced world and it is easy to get lost. Sometimes, we lose sight of who we are. I believe all of us have many different parts of ourselves. Some protect us, some help us succeed, some hold us back, and some keep us safe. Daniel Rothman is a psychotherapist in private practice in the Wood River Valley. Having spent over a decade helping individuals bridge the journey into mature adulthood, he specializes in helping clients actively examine the relationships in their lives in order to build self-awareness, change old patterns, and create healthy new habits. He has significant experience with anxiety, depression, chemical dependence, ADHD, oppositional defiance disorder, and attachment issues. John Rogers, PhD, is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Idaho, a LPC in Virginia, and a Counselor Educator. He is board-certified as a National Certified Counselor. John works with adults, teens, couples, and families, and he is a strong advocate and ally for diverse clients. John uses a wellness and mindfulness orientation to help clients work through challenges they face with mental health, trauma, substance use, and relationships. He uses a number of therapeutic tools, including relational therapy, cognitive behavioral, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and solution-focused therapy to help clients meet their goals.

Cate Cox is a psychotherapist and clinical supervisor in private practice in the Wood River Valley. She trained at The Institute for Health and Healing (IHH) at the California Pacific Medical Center Hospitals working with patients living with severe illnesses, including cancer and autoimmune conditions. She earned her masters degree in transpersonal counseling psychology from The California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco and received her bachelor's degree in writing and literature from the buddhist institute, Naropa University, in Boulder, Colorado. She has been a certified yoga teacher since 2001.
