Greetings! My ideal clients are one who may be at a crossroad, who may be struggling with balancing life, trying to manage stress, depression and/or anxiety, establishing and maintaining boundaries, one who may want to change careers or one who may be currently going through a divorce or struggling with his/her sexual dysfunction or fantasies. I have many years of clinical experience working with the aforementioned, caregivers of aging parents, veterans, parenting support, coaching, empowering and reality testing. I encourage you to step outside of your comfort zone and allow me to assist with identifying and reaching your goal(s).

Dr. Smith provides both individual and Family/Couple Counseling services, as well as family-based interventions. Common reasons for seeking therapy include difficulty adjusting to life changes and transitions, coping with traumatic life experiences, and difficulty managing feelings, such as depression, stress, anxiety and anger. Other common issues include dissatisfaction in significant relationships, parenting challenges, and issues related to body image and unhealthy eating patterns. Dr. Smith focuses on increasing a client's self-awareness and assists them in establishing new ways to cope with their difficulties that are consistent with the client's personal values and beliefs.

Terry Samuels earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice in December 1994 from Armstrong Atlantic University. Terry obtained his Master of Public Administration degree in December 1996 from Georgia State University. Terry obtained his Master of Professional Counseling degree in December 2015 from Grand Canyon University. Terry completed a 10-month internship at Intown Psychological Associates and completed the hours required for his associate license. Terry is a fully licensed therapist in the state of Georgia (LPC011391). Terry obtained his doctorate in psychology from Grand Canyon University in November of 2023.

My specialty is couples counseling and sex therapy. I also address issues of spiritually and self-esteem. I work with couples around affair recovery, perpetual conflictual interactions, and help couples develop and maintain intimate emotional and sexual relationships. I work with individuals to help them overcome painful childhood experiences and guide them to connect to others in healthy ways. I treat couples and individuals for orgasmic difficulties, disparate and low desire, body image issues, erectile difficulties, delayed ejaculation, premature ejaculation, painful intercourse, and lack of emotional intimacy during sex.

My goal is to help individual, couples, and families process through their emotions in order to make sense of their world and to lead more productive and fulfilling lives. I have convenient evening and weekend hours available.

I love working with people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and experiences. As we are all overcoming the pandemic(s), new strategies for thinking about living our best lives are on the forefronts of our minds. Many of my clients, both individuals and couples, desire closer and more meaningful relationships. Relationship issues, whether with ourselves or with others, cause a variety of problems including depression and anxiety. I help my clients make sense of their relationship patterns and examine thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that may be obstacles to experiencing a fulfilling and exciting life. I work under the premise that the first step in dealing with emotional and relational problems is to become aware of what keeps us in their trap.

I believe it is imperative that as counselors we work diligently to help clients identify, accept, and work through their limiting ideas. I believe that my personal work and advanced education combine to create a down-to-earth and genuine, love-based approach that my clients benefit from.
