Thanks for showing up for yourself and for taking the time to review my profile. Over the course of my long therapy career I have worked with a variety of populations and issues within community mental health programs and in private practice. I believe I can be most helpful with individuals who are struggling with unresolved negative/traumatic experiences and/or who are finding it difficult to navigate through transitions out of relationships, starting new relationships, parenting stages and aging.
I have been a therapist for over thirty years. I am also a certified EMDR Therapist. EMDR is a trauma informed type of therapy. On a more personal note, I am a single mother and have been divorced. I've had my share of disappointments and struggles. I believe these experiences have been useful for my role as a therapist.
It can be hard to open yourself up and be completely honest and vulnerable and I'm hoping you have gotten to the place where you realize it's the best way forward. I get that if you've had very negative and/or traumatic experiences, you may be concerned about opening up old wounds. I will meet you where you are and look forward to helping you.
