With over 25 years of experience in counseling, I currently treat children and adolescents ages 4-16 and provide family therapy to help my clients succeed at home, at school and in their social lives. I use multi-sensory approaches, including activity based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, sand tray therapy, and expressive arts, I use biofeedback and neurofeedback programs for ADHD, and DIR FloorTime for social development and autism. My clinic focuses on a student/educational approach, rather than medical, and therapy is viewed as a learning process, rather than a treatment. I use connected therapy for adoption/foster care.
My clinic includes two sensory rooms for activity-based therapy which is effective for children who are working on shared attention, taking turns, engagement, and handling anger and frustration, as well as for children and teens struggling with attachment and trauma as a result of adverse early childhood experiences.
My practice is located in a multidisciplinary clinic, which includes services for reading and academic support, and music therapy. Our focus is the child/teen's success in school and family life, as well as supporting families. Summer social groups and camps are posted on our website www.readabablelearningclinic.com.
