I treat adult clients with a range of concerns, including life adjustments, mood disorders, trauma history, anxiety, personality disorders, stress, dual diagnosis (MH/D&A), dual diagnosis (MH/ID), as well as individuals who wish to maximize their full potential. The nature of the therapeutic relationship is the bedrock from which trust develops and is the key to improve upon all other relationships, including with one's self. I assist individuals to discover and build upon inner strengths, skills, and abilities to better adapt to the challenges that a fulfilling life presents.
Interpersonal therapy allows individuals to understand "how" feelings, thoughts, and behavior affect one's perceptions and experience in the present moment, as it is occurring. From this, a person can identify ways of being that perhaps are no longer successful and discover more effective strategies in getting his/her subjective needs met.
I have 13 years of experience that range across treatment settings including inpatient, partial hospitalization programs (PHP), outpatient, and private practice. I am conveniently located to serve the communities of Allegheny and Westmoreland counties.
