Nakeya offers online counseling to help you address issues such as depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, communication-barriers and family issues. She studied psychology at the University of Georgia, obtaining a B.A. in psychology in 1998. She also obtained a Master of Social Work from Valdosta State University in 2011 and became fully licensed in 2015. Her desire to better understand human behavior led to a career in the helping field, spanning twenty years of serving others. She approaches counseling as an opportunity to understand your story and help you develop a path of healing that leads to a more meaningful life.
I treat adults that are dealing with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress and bipolar disorder. We also address quality of life issues including communication issues, career dissatisfaction, parenting challenges, relationship stress and life-transitions.
I utilize the following models of treatment depending on the needs of the each individual: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness Interventions, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Interventions
