I am Dr. Naharia Heard, a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Substance Abuse Counselor, Nationally Certified Counselor, and Approved Clinical Supervisor (LPC, CSAC, NCC, ACS) in the state of Virginia with more than 10 years of experience. I am also a mother and Army veteran who specializes in helping adult clients and families that are having difficulties managing stress and anxiety, struggling with coping skills, anxiety, depression, sexual abuse, combat, substance abuse, and family and relational issues.
I offer cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and cognitive processing therapy, depending on the client's needs and preferences in sessions. I treat each family and individual as unique, offering individualized care that aims to empower each client to succeed and remain motivated to change.
