Therapy is a gamble. When choosing a therapist, the most important question a client can ask is: will my therapist's mind be more flexible and more integrated than my own? Are they able to see, acknowledge and actively work on healing their own wounds, so they won't feel overwhelmed, triggered, offended, or over their head with mine? No one can take you further than they'd gone themselves. Creating a safe and supportive environment is a start, but it's not enough. I've spent twenty years becoming friends with monsters under MY bed, and I want to help you see and befriend yours.

I have not always been a functional human being. I know what it's like to not want to get out of bed, to feel powerless in a relationship, to doubt my worth, to not be able to say no, to hate my body, to be a horrible parent, to not be chosen, to feel both the pain of betrayal and the shame of betraying another. I am not scared of your darkness.

A transformation can occur. I see the depth of your pain as roots that, once properly tended, grow strong and full of beauty and character. I own my shadow and and visit my dark places regularly, and I welcome yours. It is my privilege and great responsibility to lead you on a journey towards your healed soul.
