Clinical Social Work/Therapist, LCSW, MPH
Would you like to feel more alive, and more at home inside yourself? Are you struggling with relationship patterns connected with your past that no longer serve you, but are difficult to change? Would you like to learn ways to understand yourself more deeply, and to develop greater self-compassion? Therapy is a collaborative and creative process where we will explore together what is happening in your life. Through discovering "where it hurts," and finding ways to release old pain and embrace your life in the present, we will travel to new places and reveal new possibilities together.
For over a decade, I have been working with trauma, and all of the ways that trauma can affect us: in our emotions, our bodies, our ways of thinking, our relationships and our spirits. Trauma can't simply be "talked away." It needs to be worked with respectfully and carefully.
My training includes body-based (Sensorimotor Psychotherapy), attachment focused (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy) and cognitively focused (trauma focused CBT) orientations, as well as work with parts (Internal Family Systems). Because each person is unique, and therapy is so personal, we will find ways of working together that best suit you.
