I have been licensed as a clinical social worker for 15 years. During that time, I have worked with highly diverse populations and needs. Besides providing psychotherapy, I have been a professor at Sacramento State University in the School of Social Work for nearly 10 years. I work primarily with adults who suffer from symptoms related to depression, anxiety, and stress. We work together to develop skills and habits that mitigate symptoms while leveraging your strengths and resources.
I offer a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment for clients. My primary modality is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I also apply some Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques.
I tend to be warm, gentle, and curious with clients. At times, I can be direct. I help clients discover their values and align their goals with them. Once established, the goals become the benchmarks for your progress.
