I facilitate mindful awareness of body sensations through to a range of somatic body mind interventions based on the latest knowledge in neurobiology. In accessing your body and mind's innate wisdom you will be able to release the effects of trauma and be free from compulsions and obsessions.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist in practice for over 20 years. My practice is dedicated to both psychotherapy and neurofeedback. My psychotherapy background is psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral. The blending of these approaches allows me to tailor individual treatment in a way that is designed to address specific needs. I meet people where they are as they come into therapy, help them get symptom relief by working to address cognitive and behavioral issues that are preventing them from leading their most satisfying life, while looking to foster insight and healing from the patterns that caused symptoms in the first place.

In our relationship as counselor and client, we can process unmet needs, the feelings that lie beneath, and patterns in relationships. Together, we can explore new ways of being and un-learn the defense mechanisms you needed to survive but are no longer serving you well. With this new awareness, ownership of your experiences and needs, and self compassion comes agency, change, and healing.

I have been providing psychotherapy and counseling to individuals, couples, and families in Vermont for over eighteen years in a wide range of clinical settings and across a broad scope of client populations. As a therapist, I support people through a process of improving their health and well-being, of living more more mindfully, and of creating opportunities for healing. I also assist clients in exploring personal growth, in developing new insights about themselves and their relationships, in learning skills to reduce stress, anxiety, and other forms of suffering, and in limiting obstacles that impact them from reaching their potential.

My clinical work has consisted of treating a variety of clients with different backgrounds, experiences, and concerns. I am particularly interested in developing goals with you, and/or your child, that are relevant to your current situation that can help you and/or your child move forward in an effective and healthy manner. I have experience with treating interpersonal relationship problems, anxiety, depression, self-esteem concerns, family of origin issues, and grief and loss. I work with children, adolescents, adults with developmental disabilities, and young adults in a therapeutic environment.

I operate under the belief that mental health and wellness exists at the junction of the biological, social and psychological facets of an individual, and that a balance is needed to address the human condition. With this in mind even the most difficult of concerns to address can be a profound force for positive change in someone's life.

I have personally experienced the healing and growth that comes from using clinical hypnotherapy within a supportive therapeutic milieu. I find the accelerated, effective results from clinical hypnosis very impressive and enjoy helping others heal and actualize change with this powerful technique. I approach counseling from a client-centered perspective, meet people where they are at, and help them get to where they want to be without judgement or pressure.

I have a focus on providing collaborative support within a framework of social justice and a strong belief that each person has everything they need within them and sometimes we all lose touch with these things and could use some outside support to discover our answers. I view my role as a therapist as the bridge to the answers within that may be difficult to see. I believe that the context of our lives is important to understanding our experiences.

In my work with clients my goal has been to develop strong, trusting relationships that foster awareness and growth in a way that works for each individual. I have experience working with individuals and families managing depression and anxiety, grief, chronic health issues, caregiver stress, relationship and interpersonal issues, and many other types of stress related and emotional concerns. I tend toward an action oriented approach focused on developing stronger coping, self-care, communication and relationship strategies.

My passion comes from helping people move past the losses and traumas of their past and into a rich and full life. Trauma and the losses we experience in life can wound us on every level - physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. My desire is to see you pick up the pieces and create a beautiful life beyond the struggle of grief, anxiety, postpartum difficulties, infertility, disordered eating, childhood abuse, and other painful life events. My approach is one of compassion, honesty, and a little bit of sass - to help you rediscover a life of passion, beauty, joy, fulfillment, and empowerment.

I am not accepting new patients at this time. I work primarily with adults and adolescents. This includes family work in support of the individual work, but I do not do ongoing family or couples therapy. I have experience working with a broad range of patients but most of my experience is with difficulties associated with depression, anxiety, trauma (PTSD), problems with expression of anger, and teen/parent conflicts.

My approach is to provide a safe and therapeutic environment that encourages vulnerability, curiosity, and self-reflection. I enjoy working with individuals who are seeking support through a challenging transition or experience as well as those looking for a space to strengthen their quality of life through personal awareness.

Almost all of us experience anxiety at some point. For some of us, it occurs on a daily basis. Does fear get in your way? Do you feel stuck? Anxiety can interfere with our ability to perform at our best. This can lead to low self-esteem/self-worth, relationship issues, job and/or school related stress, difficulty concentrating, fear of failure, fear of rejection, and engagement in non-productive coping methods such as excessive worry, rumination, procrastination, disordered eating, binging and other behavioral concerns.

My Masters degree in Clinical Psychology is from St. Michael's College, and my undergraduate degree is from U.V.M. I teach coping skills and provide support to clients who are dealing with injuries and illnesses.
