Sessions may include education around the role of trauma, past experience, and neurochemistry in how we feel and act now, mindfulness exercises, relaxation practices, creativity-based activities, and the development of individualized plans to help practice healthier thought and behavior patterns.

At times, we require creative avenues alongside individual therapy to tap into various cognitive faculties, aiding our processing. Vanessa enjoys creatively using the modalities of Drum Circles and Role Playing Games (RPGs) therapeutically with clients in individual and group settings. RPGs have resurfaced in popularity following the pandemic as we have craved connection. In a therapeutic RPG group, members will create characters with a personality, backstory, strengths, challenges and quirks that will adventure together through storytelling to solve problems, learn about each other, and learn skills along the way.
