Working with youth and adolescents is my passion as they embark on the arduous journey of self-discovery. During this process many youth and teens experience issues such as: oppositional behavior, emotional deregulation and expression, transitional challenges (autism, LGBTQ, school related issues, blended family), anxiety, mood disorders, ADHD/ADD, trauma, destructive behaviors and detachment issues from their surroundings, drug and alcohol abuse and dependency. In working with this clientele I utilize an authentic Cognitive Behavioral approach that integrates behavioral modification techniques promoting empowerment, motivation, self-confidence, self-awareness, and encourages personal responsibility, and growth in all stages of development.

I have provided counseling services in a variety of environments, including community Mental Health, hospital, and home-based family service. I currently serve preschool through middle school age children who experience adjustment issues, anxiety, depression, learning disabilities, or developmental delays. Utilizing play therapy and experiential therapy with the children, I also encourage family participation in the counseling process. I serve couples and individuals as well. I have more than 20 years of experience supporting, assisting adults, and seniors working towards enjoying life to the fullest. I specialize in helping clients who are depressed, anxious, experiencing life transitions and loss, including divorce, death, serious illness, or other trauma. I have an eclectic approach depending on the client. This approach includes psychodynamic, client-centered and cognitive behavioral therapy.

Having a good relationship with your therapist has been shown to be the most predictive factor of success in therapy. As such, I believe that having good relationships is one of the most helpful factors in life and sometimes we need help with that as well. I specialize in working with adults with anxiety and depression.

Anna has expertise in providing focused behavioral health services for a variety of concerns including: development, behavioral health, mental health, education/work support, and psychosocial health. Anna received her Master of Social Work from Denver University Graduate School of Social Work in 2003. Anna has 20 years of working in the field of social work with diverse populations in both clinical and community settings in the United States and abroad.

Megan Hageman is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Virginia who has experience helping others through challenges with depression, parenting problems, anxiety, LGBTQ+ issues, and relationship issues. Megan has a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lynchburg College and a Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology from Randolph College. Megan has worked in a wide array of settings from inpatient to outpatient and feels that these experiences help her to meet her clients where they are and to be actively non-judgmental.
