My therapeutic approach engages and guides each client into meeting their full potential by creating awareness and solutions to their current challenges by looking into their life experiences and life history. My personal theory is to treat each client as an individual; meaning all therapies are not beneficial or advantageous to all. By individualizing my therapy techniques and philosophy, it provides the client with the customizing they deserve. I am nonjudgmental and have an adept ability to establish rapport and trust easily with my clients. My goal is to help my clients achieve a healthier, stronger and happier well being.

I have been in the social services/medical arena for over 20 years with widely diverse populations. I work with individuals, couples and families dealing with addiction and other behavioral health issues. I have extensive experience working with the elderly, individuals with chronic illness, chronic mental illness and those battling obesity and seeking bariatric surgery, domestic violence and chronic mental illness. I often work with an Addiction Medicine Specialist and can offer individualized supportive addiction/recovery therapy. I enjoy diversity and exploring our similarities and differences. I have a Master of Family Therapy Degree in addition to being a LMFT.

Dr. Jan Miller is a Licensed Psychologist with 18+ years of experience in the mental health field. Jan is trained as a generalist and works with clients who have depression, anxiety, trauma, low self-worth, relational concerns, and substance use issues. She specializes in eating disorders. Jan is a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, and she utilizes Health at Every Size (HAES) and body neutrality in her clinical work. Jan's clinical approach is evidence-based and grounded in the therapeutic relationship. She works hard to provide a safe, affirming, and honest space for clients to feel heard, seen, and connected.

West Georgia Counseling & Assessment Services has been servicing families through the DFCS since 2000. As of 2021, our practice also services individuals and families with private insurance, as a self pay client, individual, marital & family therapy sessions. We proudly serve our military veterans and their families as well as all members of our community. Our agency is composed of male and female, highly credentialed, diverse, and experienced staff of LPC's, APC's, Master level counselors, parent aids, and other staff.

Most of my clients are facing relational challenges due to areas that are out of balance in their lives. At the present time, I have about 150 clients. I spend much time working with people with high levels of stress, anxiety and depression. My greatest strengths are in Marriage & Family and Youth Counseling due to the fact that I look for root problems in the lives of people and find ways to retrain them so that they can be much more functional. I am also very effective with self-esteem issues. With additional counselors we can address substance abuse, weight management, child custody issues, divorce mediation, etc.

Gabrielle Waters is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified School Counselor in the state of Georgia who has 7 years’ experience assisting adults and children in areas of depression, anxiety, ADHD, and Trauma related symptoms. She focuses on Trauma Informed Expressive Art Therapy for sexual abuse, Domestic Violence, Physical Abuse, and other traumas. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Clayton State University and received her Master of Arts in School Counseling from Capella University.
