Through a combination of CBT, DBT, behavioral modification, and solution focused therapy, I aim to help clients discover their best qualities, explore the barriers that impede their progress, and develop a plan to take practical steps toward making their goals a reality.

As a therapist I enjoy working with a variety of groups. I do individual, family and couples therapy, but particularly enjoy working with teens and young women. I enjoy empowering youth while they transition through their developmental tasks and into adulthood. I believe in a rapport-based approach to therapy: mainly authenticity in communication and interpersonal development of relationships. I aim to remove stigmas and depathologize issues, focusing on outcomes over symptoms. My philosophy is that people are often unaware of their core values, or stressors have made them seem far too distant. When building acceptance around the reality of problems facing families, and focusing on objectives that improve wellness, change can occur. The behavioral interventions, objectivity, and support found in the therapeutic relationship help lead individuals and families to their goals.

No matter a person's background, therapy is a place where uniquely painful experiences and the daily hardships of life can be transformed into joyful growth and peaceful acceptance. I help individuals learn new ways of relating to others, develop a deeper understanding of themselves, and begin to see the world in a new light. My clinical focus has been in women's issues and relationship counseling where I help people develop healthy communication and greater harmony in their relationships. I assist women in working through complex issues of grief and loss, and in exploring areas related to personal growth and spiritual development.

Everyone always says parenting is hard, but that it is so worth it… leaving you to wonder when that will be true for you and leaving you to feel guilty when you feel like screaming at your toddler for not listening, or pulling your hair out due to your child excessively worrying about nothing, or walking on eggshells around your moody teenager. While you’re still figuring out how to navigate and adjust to each new phase of your own life, you’re also trying to teach your kids how to be human and how to find their own authentic selves in this changing world.

I primarily have experience working with individuals of all ages who struggle with eating disorders and body dysmorphia (and other co-occurring struggles). I am a non-diet practitioner with a HAES approach. I work closely with health professionals as well (dietitians and NPs) to help clients achieve health holistically. I also thoroughly enjoy working with individuals that struggle with anxiety disorders, OCD, and interpersonal struggles. It is my hope that my office is truly a refuge for all who enter and that we can work together as a team to achieve balance in life and pursue holistic health.
