Thank you for viewing my site! I am a bilingual, LMHC, MCAP, & Parenting Coordinator. Over the last 24years, my private practice has focused on adolescents, individuals, families, adults and couples who are journeying through life with their unique struggles. Life mirrors a puzzle with new pieces being added one at a time. I am working with both adolescents and adults. My theoretical orientation to counseling and psychotherapy is rooted in the philosophy of a humanistic-existential approach to human functioning. I use the tenets of individual responsibility to choice and decision-making and apply them within a cognitive-behavioral perspective (CBT) to counseling and clinical work. I consider myself a generalist with specialty training in cognitive rehabilitation, vocational/career counseling, as well as psychoeducational testing and other evaluations, such as pre-surgical evaluations (e.g., for bariatric procedures).

For more than 30 years I have had the privilege of offering guidance to individuals, couples and families who want to make responsible changes in their lives. Whether you are experiencing anxiety * depression * marital stress * divorce * grief * illness * trauma * substance abuse * difficult parent-child relationships; we will work as a team to deal with sources of problems and design strategies for healthier approaches. Our goal is to transform distress and challenges into valuable life lessons. In addition, I was the first licensed mental health professional in NE Florida to teach Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction classes.

I believe that everyone deserves an environment where they feel comfortable enough to discuss their beliefs and feelings without judgment. I apply several theoretical orientations such as, but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Family Systems Theory in my practice to best meet my clients' individual needs. I work on building a strong therapeutic relationship using empathy and non-judgmental, goal-oriented approaches which assist client's treatment outcome.
