Dr. Peter Williams is a Licensed Psychologist with over 30-years clinical experience. He has vast experience in conducting effective therapy with Individuals, Couples and Families. He specializes in treating individuals with ADHD, Anxiety Disorders and Depression. He provides top-flight service and treatment, most often with same-week appointments for new patients.

I approach my clients collaboratively with a warm, accepting and compassionate attitude. I believe developing a trusting relationship is the most effective foundation to approach the hardships and mind habits we all face in life. I use specific CBT and Mindfulness skills to help my clients reduce symptoms and feel better soon. Anxiety, obsessiveness and depressed feelings can be significantly reduced while I teach clients how to govern the mind, creating new habits and strategies. As a practitioner of mindfulness who has attended many Insight Meditation retreats, I can share with you the benefits of attention from both personal and professional experience.

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for over 27 years, I am able to work with a myriad of issues that couples, individuals and families present. My approach to counseling has become a combination of many different types of therapies. My clients and I maintain an interactive relationship that includes insight therapy, cognitive behavioral treatment, and directive techniques. Improving the ability to communicate effectively with your partner, family and friends and reduction of stress in your life is the primary focus of your work with me. I am a licensed mental health counselor and licensed marriage and therapy therapist. I have counseled individuals and couples for 40 years. I bring a great depth and breadth of expertise to my work and a practical approach. I help clients learn about themselves and practice radical self-acceptance. I received a Ph.D. in Psychology at Saybrook Institute in San Francisco and a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology at Antioch New England University. I have been a practicing psychotherapist in Portsmouth for 25 years, specializing in depression, anxiety, and relationship issues. I have also successfully helped clients struggling with trauma, OCD, anger management, prolonged grief, parenting issues, and Bi-polar Disorder. I emphasize a collaborative effort with clients and believe therapy is only successful when there is a positive relationship between the client and the clinician. I have worked with numerous clients who have needed medication at some point in their treatment. I do not rush to recommend medication, but I do work closely PCP's or psychiatrists if medication is necessary.

Juliet is an independent Licensed Mental Health Counselor. She received her Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Dance/ Movement Therapy from Lesley University and her Bachelors of Science in Human Developmental and Family Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Juliet has worked with clients across the lifespan in various settings including assisted living, partial hospitalization programs, and within the community. She has extensive experience working with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, crisis, and life transitions.

I appreciate supporting families with children of any age and with a variety of concerns and I have worked for many years with families with very young children. All of my efforts are trauma sensitive but in particular I endeavor to provide parent guidance that is conscious of all a parent has been through, without judgement. I have significant training in attachment focused interventions, cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing.

I earned a Bachelor's degree in psychology from University of Massachusetts, Lowell, in 1989. I obtained my Master's degree in mental health counseling form Suffolk University in 1993. I completed my certification in graduate studies in counseling at Lesley University in 2006.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. I have had the opportunity of working with various populations and to be part of the healing journey of many individuals and families. I have worked in residential mental health settings as well as inpatient substance abuse centers, which has provided me with understanding and knowledge of various populations: substance abuse disorders, mental health disorders and dual diagnosis.
