I specialize in the treatment of anxiety, depression, ADHD, and counter-productive behaviors/thoughts in older adolescents, and adults in their 20s and 30s. As a licensed professional counselor and long-time yoga instructor, I offer a holistic and eclectic approach to counseling, viewing each client as an individual with unique life stories, areas of strength and areas of needed growth. My goal is to help my clients feel empowered in their lives so they can build - or get back to - a happy, conflict-free and fulfilling life, day-to-day.
My therapy is heavily influenced by the modalities of Positive Psychology, Mindfulness/MBSR and Biofeedback. I have training in EMDR and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I seek to help my clients build self-esteem, and to love and accept themselves unconditionally. In doing so, develop healthy coping strategies and begin to resolve difficult life situations.
I have extensive experience with older teens and clients in their 20s and 30s, giving me unique insight into modern issues affecting adolescents and younger adults. I have also lived and led yoga and wellness retreats for adults in Central America, am highly-proficient in Spanish, and provide an informed multicultural lens in my therapy.
