I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over a dacade of experience working with individuals, couples, and families. I make sure that all my time with clients feels genuine and personable. I find it a lot easier, and frankly more fun, when you can enjoy talking with your therapist, and the mental health work doesn’t feel like a chore. I primarily work from systemic theories, and incorporate solution-focused work into my practice. After a thorough exploration of presenting issues, I aim to set clear goals for therapy in the initial sessions. I find it is important to evolve solution attempts to get change started.
With couples, I balance problem exploration and building communication skills, improving discussions of needs and solutions. I am comfortable working with couples in crisis. Through a combination of Gottman Method communication interventions and emotionally-focused dialogues, couples can learn to appreciate working together to solve any of their problems.
For individual therapy, I commonly work with mood disorders (anxiety, depression, etc.) through cognitive behavioral therapy and other modalities. I enjoy working with clients who span from change-oriented to those who just want a deeper understanding of the self. My job is to meet my clients where they are and treat their perspective as the most important.
