Hello, and congratulations on taking the first step to begin therapy! I strive to meet clients where they are psychologically, emotionally, and relationally while helping them develop goals for achieving their desired levels of overall well-being. It is my goal to foster a safe and collaborative space where we can build trust and explore various parts of that story together. Do you feel disconnected and lonely in your relationship? I can help you re-connect and feel again the bond you once had. I use Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy ( EFT), an attachment based therapy method. I am also trained in EMDR ( Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing), ACT ( Acceptance and Commitment Therapy- a combination of CBT and mindfulness techniques) and IFS ( Internal Family Systems ) which are helpful in processing trauma.

I currently have a waitlist. I am a clinical social worker and registered yoga teacher who empowers people using the guiding principles of empathy, curiosity, cultural humility, and collaboration. I take an integrative, somatic, and highly relational approach and work to understand how the intersection of your unique experiences impact today. I remain committed to working with people as they face a range of experiences, including multicultural concerns, oppression, identity exploration, trauma, anxiety, depression, queer/LGB+ concerns, trans and gender identity related concerns, relationship concerns, chronic illness, and grief.

Haley approaches therapy from a multicultural perspective because each client brings their identity and personal history to the counseling process. Her overall theoretical orientation for the therapeutic relationship is Person-Centered Therapy, where the counselor expresses empathy, genuineness, and positive regard. Haley integrates empirically supported approaches based on the client’s presenting needs, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Haley also has specialized training in the treatment of trauma.

I specialize in working with individuals with autism and co-occurring psychiatric conditions. I understand how people with developmental disabilities may present psychiatric conditions differently, such as depression and anxiety, than individuals without developmental disabilities. I also enjoy working with college-aged/young adults who are in the process of transitioning to the "real world," and helping them with the stressors of "adulting."

I am licensed in North Carolina and have four years of professional work experience. I have experience helping clients with stress and anxiety, relationship issues, family conflicts, and anger management. I believe that you are the expert on your story and have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming challenges. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards change. I am here to support and empower you in that journey.

I moved to North Carolina from the Northwest in 2018 and am considered a true generalist. This means I have over 10,000 hours of experience helping children, adolescents, and adults with the myriad concerns that bring them to therapy (see the specialty list below): however, my areas of expertise are in trauma, anxiety, improving interpersonal relationship dynamics, and performance improvement.
