I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Certified Counselor. I graduated from Mercer University with a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. After 5 years of working in community mental health both at the inpatient and outpatient levels I have gained invaluable experience working with individuals from multicultural backgrounds. My experience includes treating individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorders, grief, postpartum, racial issues, substance abuse, and more.

I genuinely believe in human resiliency and that we are capable of overcoming any hurdles life throws our way. I utilize a multicultural worldview in my work, as I understand the impact of family, culture, systems and community on how we experience and show up in the world. I have over a decade of experience specifically working with survivors of all forms of trauma as well as individuals experiencing challenges functioning in their daily lives. I have also supported immigrants, international students, and expats as they navigate the challenges of acculturation and living in a new culture, an experience that I know too well.

As a holistic psychotherapist, I strive to meet my clients where they’re at and always consider the mind, body, spirit, and environment. Each client is unique, so I use compassion and multicultural awareness to tailor they way I serve each client. I use a feminist, humanistic, and integrative approach and enjoy working with adults of all ages and backgrounds, but especially young women. The collaborative process of healing and growth allows my clients to reach the goals we set together and to navigate challenges of many sizes they face in their lives.

My approach to counseling is a collaborative effort between my client and myself to work towards goals that align with the client's values, beliefs and aspirations. I utilize mindfulness based cognitive therapy to help my clients set specific and achievable goals while teaching techniques and coping mechanisms to relieve the client's current symptoms. I provide counseling from a multicultural lens based in my experience as a biracial woman with an immigrant parent. I'm also a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor and have worked extensively with people coping with disabling and chronic conditions.

I am a relational psychotherapist, which means that I believe relationships (with family, friends, coworkers, higher powers, our relationship with our self, etc.) often play a role in our suffering and, yet, also play a crucial role in our healing. Relatedly, the relationship between the therapist and client is of utmost importance and requires trust and authenticity for both parties involved. In my work with clients, I use a variety of individualized, eclectic approaches to help each person meet their goals and needs. My therapeutic style is warm, direct, empowering, and collaborative.

I am a trained mental health therapist currently pursuing a PhD in Counseling Psychology. I had experiences working with children, youth, young and older adults as well as working with couples and groups. Many of my clients have experienced loneliness, live in-between cultures, or hold marginalized identities. We are created to flourish, but so many of us feel far from flourishing. We have experienced harm, pain, trauma, and wounding that leave us with a knowing that things are not as they should be. I do believe, however, that healing and flourishing are possible, and that you are meant to experience them. Because we are made up of multiple parts, I believe that using a blend of modalities, a holistic multidisciplinary approach, is most helpful in bringing integration back to our beings. Harm, wounds, and trauma cause division and fragmentation between our body, soul, and spirit, and each part of us needs care.

I'm a licensed therapist in Georgia with over 25 years of Experience. I have worked with a diverse population in various settings. I use Art Therapy, Coaching, Expressive Arts, Mindfulness-Based, Multicultural, Person-centered, Solution Focused, Strength Based, Motivational Interviewing, and Christian Counseling. Some of my specialties are ADHD, anger management, career counseling, codependency, coping skills, family conflict, depression, LGBTQ issues, job stress, peer relationships, women’s issues, school issues, and mood disorders. I use each methodology to help clients develop healthy coping skills to meet their goals.

In my office I offer clients a warm and supportive therapeutic environment where issues can be successfully addressed and resolved. But it is only with the client's effort and desire to change that psychotherapy is most successuful. Through the years I have found that a direct approach in therapy is most valuable as it allows us both to target those beliefs and behaviors which may require change.

These clients recognize that they have been struggling for quite some time and are finally at a point in their lives where they are ready to make some changes. Even if they aren't aware what those changes look like, they know that they need to start thinking differently. This is where I come in. I am here to help facilitate the growth, self awareness, and steps needed to produce these changes that will translate to self-actualization.
