MTR is located on a healing horse farm in Crownsville, MD. Specializing in Eagala model Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) and Nature Informed Therapy, we believe in the power of animals, nature, and our environment to enhance the therapeutic experience. We work with individuals 8 years and older, couples, families and groups and specialize in treating anxiety, depression, adjustment, substance abuse, ADHD, PTSD, grief and loss, self esteem, connection building and more. MTR is a leader in the equine assisted services industry and serves the community with skill, compassion and expertise.
Our therapists employ a variety of integrative techniques into these approaches to best meet our clients where they are and may incorporate expressive arts techniques, narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, and collaborative therapy.
We approach therapy with compassion, authenticity, curiosity, lack of judgement, and empowerment. Horses and being in nature can connect us to ourselves. No previous horse experience is needed. No horseback riding is involved.
