I advocate to bridge the gaps between the brain and body, individuals and societal resources, seeking to improve the overall well-being within our communities by meeting the needs of the individual and their families. Whether someone is dealing with anxiety, depression, grief, or just needs a "check in", my goal is to allow space for those things to exist until they can be put in their proper place where they do not consume someone's life in a debilitating way. To do this I employ several methods of therapy some of which include the CBT, DBT, internal family systems, and sandtray therapy.

I specialize in EFT intensives and couples therapy, helping partners rebuild trust, deepen connection, and break free from stuck patterns.
You’re here because something has to change. The same fights, the same distance, the same hurt—it’s exhausting. Maybe you’ve tried talking it out, ignoring it, or starting fresh, only to find yourself stuck in the same painful cycles. You’re starting to wonder if things will ever get better, if “love” is enough, or if you’re just too different to make it work. This disconnection, resentment, and silence—it’s all weighing on you. Maybe you’ve tried what feels like everything to help, but nothing has made a difference. You don’t just want to “get by”—you want to feel close, understood, & secure. But right now, that feels out of reach.

When anxiety or trauma takes hold, it feels like a hostile hijacking of your own mind. The world’s vibrancy suddenly drains away, replaced by a grayscale fog where every step feels like wading through waist-deep water. Anxiety is a jagged, hum—a heart drumming "danger" in a quiet room—while depression acts as a thick pane of frosted glass between you and the people you love. If the past feels like a time traveler constantly pulling you into the cold edges of "then," your internal compass isn't broken; it's just stuck in a protective loop. Together, we can thin the fog and let the colors of your life bleed back through.

My clients usually start therapy thinking they need to do more — but the answer is usually doing less. I work with people who haven't been feeling like themselves, who are tired of overthinking, and who want to move from anxious rumination into a life lived with more presence and ease. Together we slow down, get curious about the patterns and relationships that brought you to this point, and build a path forward.

I primarily use Emotionally Focused Therapy to work with individuals and couples.
Are you struggling with the sorrow of losing someone or something you love? Do you feel like you can't "get over it" and you would like someone to come along side you with kindness, compassion, empathy and support? We often attribute grief to death, but we can also grieve over lost relationships, physical abilities, employment, life transitions and many other things. Through life and loss experiences, we can lose hope, our sense of purpose and our connection with others. We can also experience transitions within our relationships that can cause us to feel disconnected and alone or hopeful and excited for a bright future together.

I work with individuals, couples, and families—including parents of children with special needs—to understand what's going on beneath the surface and identify patterns that keep you stuck.
As a Hispanic therapist, I recognize the important role that culture, family, and personal experiences can play in how we understand ourselves, manage stress, and navigate relationships. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, anxious, emotionally exhausted, or stuck in the pressure of trying to hold everything together. I work with children, teens, adults, and families navigating anxiety, burnout, life transitions, grief, and relationship challenges. I also support caregivers and parents of children with special needs as they balance caring for others while learning to care for themselves.

I also have experience with couples and typically utilize Gottman methods with couples.
Currently have a few day time openings available. I am a relationally focused counselor who believes that true healing and change occurs when there is a strong therapeutic relationship. I view my role as counselor as not only a source of support but also, an objective guide to help you see patterns, make connections, and address thoughts and behaviors that are contributing to your current emotional state and symptoms. It is often difficult for us to see these things for ourselves and having a safe, supportive place to explore our emotional experiences, thoughts, and behaviors can be incredibly beneficial.

I work with couples and individuals navigating major life transitions, questions of identity, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, feelings of being "stuck" in life, histories of trauma, and athletes facing performance anxiety or recovering from serious injury.
My approach is based in Narrative Therapy and EMDR, helping people process difficult experiences and deeply held beliefs about themselves. By request, I incorporate canine-assisted therapy for in-person sessions (see photos!). My background in yoga and meditation informs a belief that healing happens through reconnection and regulation within our bodies.

Are you struggling with sadness? Unhappy in your current life situation? Do you feel stuck? The daily stresses of life can build until we feel completely overwhelmed with life. Sometimes we feel lost, alone, or depressed; we may even feel confused and hopeless about the future. These feelings are very ‘normal,’ yet most of us feel as if we're falling apart. Whether your journey involves healing from childhood wounds, achieving greater self-awareness and self-esteem, or improving relationships, let me help facilitate change using your inner resources, while we work collaboratively in a safe and supportive environment.

FAQ - Marriage Counseling
What issues does marriage counseling help with?
Marriage counseling can address common relationship concerns, including ongoing conflict, communication challenges, emotional distance, or difficulty making decisions together. It may also be helpful for couples who are not currently experiencing major problems but want to prepare for future life changes. For more specific concerns affecting one individual in the relationship, such as trauma, depression, or significant substance use concerns, individual therapy may be more appropriate than marriage counseling.

When is the right time to start marriage counseling?
There is no single “right” time to start marriage counseling, but certain signs may suggest that counseling could be helpful. For example, a couple may benefit from counseling if many conversations end in conflict, if negative interactions are becoming more frequent, or if relationship stress is affecting other areas of life, such as sleep, work, parenting, or friendships. Some couples also seek counseling proactively. Premarital counseling, for instance, allows couples to discuss communication styles, finances, family dynamics, and future goals before getting married. Other couples may start counseling before a major life change, such as becoming parents, relocating, or navigating a stressful career transition.

Is marriage counseling effective if only one partner wants to go?
Marriage counseling may still help even if one partner is more hesitant to attend, as long as both people are ultimately willing to participate in sessions. Once counseling is underway, the more hesitant partner may become more open to sessions that can strengthen the relationship and build coping skills and communication strategies. If one partner refuses to attend, individual therapy may still help the other partner understand their needs, set boundaries, and decide how to approach the relationship.

Is online marriage counseling as effective as in-person?
There are differing opinions on the best format for marriage counseling. While some studies show that online marriage counseling can be as effective as in-person counseling, some argue that in-person counseling is more effective because it allows the therapist to better pick up on context and body language cues. In addition, in-person counseling may be a better fit for couples who are working through high-conflict issues. Ultimately, the “best” format depends on the couple’s specific needs and concerns.

What is faith-based marriage counseling and how is it different?
Faith-based marriage counseling incorporates a couple’s religious or spiritual beliefs into counseling. It may be a good fit for couples who want to discuss their relationship, values, and marriage within the context of their faith. For example, Christian marriage counseling may appeal to couples who want a counselor familiar with Christian beliefs about marriage. Other forms of faith-based counseling may incorporate Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, or other religious perspectives into sessions.

How much does marriage counseling cost and is it covered by insurance?
Marriage counseling often costs $150 to $250 or more per session, depending on location, therapist experience, session length, and practice setting. Marriage counseling is typically not covered by insurance unless it is considered medically necessary and connected to a diagnosable mental health condition. Lower-cost options may be available. For instance, some therapists offer sliding scale fees for lower-income clients, and community clinics may offer counseling at a discounted rate.
