We seek therapy for many reasons. Some need to respond to unexpected changes in their lives, while others seek self-exploration and personal growth. When coping skills are overwhelmed by guilt, doubt, anxiety, or despair, therapy can help. Therapy can provide support, problem-solving skills, and enhanced coping for issues such as depression , anxiety, lack of confidence, relationship troubles, unresolved childhood issues, stress management and body image issues. Secondly, I also do clinical supervision for licensure hours and consult on private practice building.

I specialize in helping people work through depression , anxiety, relational issues, abuse, PTSD/trauma, life transitions, LGBTQ+ concerns, grief and loss.
Most likely, it took a lot of courage for you to arrive here. It requires bravery to open up to someone and be vulnerable. To say, “I need help,” is a tremendously vulnerable act. It might be really hard to trust people or to risk opening up about what you are dealing with. I get it. I'm here to make that process as seamless as possible. The more each of us reaches out for help, the more we normalize helping each other. I aim to create an atmosphere where you can be open about all your life experiences without judgment.

You are great at working. You are a successful, professional woman. You enjoy your career and are inspired by each challenge. You feel the rush of success and achievement. You wake every morning with purpose and ambition and may have never looked beyond having a successful career. But now you are finding that your life is a bit out of balance. You wouldn’t say you are “ depressed .” You don’t have “anxiety.” And you probably don’t fit the “diagnostic criteria” for a mental health diagnoses. But you are noticing that the career stress is taking its toll. Your relationships or health may be suffering and you don’t have hobbies.

If life transitions, depression , anxiety, trauma, or difficult relationships are keeping you from living the life you desire, let's talk.
*CURRENTLY NOT ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS* If relationships are not fulfilling, self-esteem is faltering, coping is a challenge, a life change is coming your way, or you just need some guidance, I can help. We will work through these feelings to find the life you want to live. My job: direct but compassionate insight and feedback. Your job: be you. Commutes/transportation/family life/work etc. often get in the way of making the time for self-care that we need. To accommodate such obstacles, in addition to the current obstacle of COVID-19, my practice is online/telehealth through a secure, confidential website.

I believe therapy is part of a journey to embrace our authentic selves, no matter our back story. Problems that we struggle with do not form our whole identity and are usually adaptations that were originally protective strategies. My intention is to assist you with connecting to your ability to heal. During these challenging times, telehealth can help you get the help you need, quickly and efficiently. My approach combines many different modalities that help clients heal from anxiety, depression , and PTSD, as well as problems caused by addiction.

Welcome! Prior to affiliating with Mount Helena Counseling, I was fortunate to provide psychotherapeutic support to individuals and families in the Helena area for over 18 years. My experience has allowed me to provide counseling to persons spanning the age continuum from adolescents to aging adults. My areas of expertise include end-of-life, grief and loss, palliative care, chronic illness, anxiety, depression , gender questioning, and suicidal ideation. Our work together will include "talk therapy" (focusing on thoughts and feelings) as well as mindfulness-based activities (focusing on present "in the moment" experiences).

I have an interest in working with perinatal mental health: postpartum depression , anxiety, OCD.
My name is Rebecca Troianos, LCPC. I am passionate in creating a warm, comfortable, nonjudgmental environment for all my clients. My goal when working with clients is to increase self-awareness, self-regulation, and self-actualization. I empower clients by building a positive working relationship that connects an individual to their mind and body as a whole. I promote awareness of tension and mind-body control. I also help identify unhelpful thoughts and behaviors that impact functioning in day to day life. I hope to improve overall emotional regulation and provide coping strategies that are tangible for when you leave my care.

Depression Therapists
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
