As a LAC, my specialty is substance use and addiction.
Every one of us is unique and knowing that, I practice from an individualized and holistic point of view. I am also a trained herbalist and have seen clients in that capacity since 2019. I believe my training in that realm allows for a more enriched and informed view of healing and recovery. My ideal client is someone who knows the potential to be the best version of themselves is there, but they may be just stuck in a patten of addictive cycles. They are open to sharing, willing to put in the work and try new things. I look at your diet, lifestyle, life experiences, family history and more to create a personalized plan.

I support clients healing trauma, PTSD, substance use, and relational patterns.
You’re someone in recovery who knows the addiction was only the surface. Beneath it live unresolved grief, shame, trauma, or years of disconnecting from your own needs just to get through life. You feel stuck in old patterns—overthinking, shutting down, carrying emotional weight alone—and you’re ready for something deeper than survival. You want emotional stability, purpose, and the ability to trust yourself again. You want to feel whole, aligned, and capable of building a life that finally feels like yours.

Soul School comes from the belief that as humans, we come with lessons to learn in this lifetime. Change can be terrifying to face. We don't have to do it alone. It takes courage to be here and taking steps towards receiving support in your healing. I work mostly with those who are willing to dive deep and are curious and motivated for change. Folks who may already have some insight or awareness, but are in need of a non-judgmental safe space to discuss it all and receive support in organizing their internal world to create a sense of understanding, peace, and alignment with their true selves.

I have a passion for working with people who are in need of surrendering old coping skills and behaviors that no longer serve them. This may be challenging those "old" thought patterns when they arise, or allowing space for a "new" point of view or voice to be heard. The therapeutic relationship should be a place where one can practice setting boundaries, empowering themselves, and self advocating. My practice includes an integrative and somatic psychotherapy approach. Modalities include EMDR, CBT, attachment theory, neurodevelopment and psycho-education, and somatic techniques.

I specialize in working with relationship challenges, heightened anxiety, and difficulties with self-esteem. It's incredibly challenging to be a human being, and when we feel overwhelmed or fearful, we have a tendency to shut down and get stuck. If you find yourself craving a more open, flexible way of being, consider reaching out. I prioritize building a trusting partnership that's highly effective in helping you gain insight, get in touch with your emotions, and implement change so that you can experience a meaningful life.

How do substance and drug recovery or rehabilitation programs work?
In inpatient programs, individuals live in a facility with other clients in recovery; in outpatient programs, individuals reside at home. These facilities are staffed with healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, psychologists, counselors, and psychotherapists. Staff often also includes people who have recovered themselves, serving as mentors and guides. These programs may use abstinence, harm reduction, detoxification, psychotherapy, and other methods.

How do 12-step programs combined with psychotherapy work?
Members of 12-step programs help each other reach abstinence and work to maintain it. These programs promote complete change in the individual’s emotional, mental, physical, and even spiritual perspectives. Some programs require that new members attend 90 meetings in 90 days. Many people do attend these programs in conjunction with their work in psychotherapy; the combination of therapy along with 12-step can be extremely effective.

How does harm reduction combined with psychotherapy work?
According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, harm reduction prevents death, injury, disease, overdose, and substance misuse. People who choose harm reduction for substance use reduce the amount of drugs they consume. It is not abstinence-based like a 12-step program, but combining harm reduction with psychotherapy proves to be effective for many people.

Are there specific medications for substance and drug use?
There are medications approved to treat substance use disorder—such as buprenorphine, methadone, naltrexone, and acamprosate. These medications do help people cope with substance use as well as avoid the problem of relapse. Naltrexone can help reduce cravings, methadone is an opioid medication used to treat severe pain, and acamprosate may help ease symptoms like poor sleep and anxious feelings.
